  3. White has been most effective the past couple weeks. Can also try black, silver/dark back, and goby colors. Get some 1.5 oz jig heads as well. Good luck.
  4. Great vid! Love the "Oh Right There" shirt!

  6. One caution while using the X2 - if you have Scotty electric riggers, the bead-stop function and the slip-ducer don't play well. You will need to removed the beads (and therefore, autostop) to make the system work. Otherwise the rigger will try to suck the slipducer thru the pulley. I started last season with an X2 on Cannons - didn't find it terribly reliable. Got Scotty's and switched back to the X4. Will note, that Fish Hawk customer service is top tier!

I've seen this boat - it is in exceptional condition. Good luck with sale!
  8. I was picking up fleas while jigging... no joke. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Have you tried turning up the "Gain?"
  10. I'll take the Ram Mounts.  Paypal ok?

  11. Depending where you launch from you should be able to get out of the wind. Dean's Cove would be a good bet - looks like the wind should pick up after noon. Good luck.
  12. I had braid on a couple Mag 10s - the braid disables the auto-stop (or, in this case, the auto-up) functionality. You will need to manually hold the switch in the up position to retrieve your weight.

  14. Dave Wilson runs a 28 Baha out of Oswego - give him a shout for a charter https://captaindavewilson.com/
  15. Friday morning set up near Portland Point and trolled down to the end of the bowl. Picked up a Cayuga Slam (Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, LL Salmon and Lake Trout) fishing 20-60 FOW. Lots of sublegal salmon, healthy browns and lakers as well as a post-spawn rainbow. Fished the same water in the fog Saturday morning. Sorted thru short salmon and some football browns. Ran north, started picking up lake trout down 60 over 70-130 FOW on Spin Drs. W flies. Took a nice “surprise” Brown down 60 over 200 while cleaning fish. 16. I owned and operated a 1989 Baha Cruisers 280 Sport Fisherman (same boat as the weekender except less cabin & more deck). Here are my thoughts: -Make sure the stringers and transom are in good condition (mine had been replaced in 2014) Cons -I had Ford 302s in mine, wished I had 350s -Very seaworthy boats, though mine didn't love to run a following sea -Can be top heavy, not much fun fishing the ditch -Wished mine had in-deck fish boxes (some do have them) Pros -Very fishable boats, there is a reason there are so many of them on Ontario -Very safe, high gunwales -Never had any mechanical or structural issues. Before you buy any boat, MAKE SURE YOU GET IT SURVEYED and SEA TRIALED! Good luck

  18. Now that we're well into the open lake season, and filling coolers I wanted to share a tip: the table quality of your fillets is greatly improved if you take a few seconds to bleed your fish before you ice them down. I will cut my fish, throw them in the livewell to bleed out, then ice them down as soon as they're done (you can certainly bleed them right in the cooler, though it'll look like a crime scene when you're done!). This process not only improves the quality of the meat, but makes the fillet process much cleaner - especially with Lakers. These guys put together a nice video on how to do it:

  21. If you’re talking about this time of year specifically, try sliding out a little deeper around this time. Usually by 8:30 the sun is up, and fish in 10 FOW have been getting buzzed by boats for 2 hrs. Slide out deeper, get your baits down, and leader-down if the fish are shy.
