  1. X2, this is the only thing that i have found that works. Walmart used to sell it in the camping section but longer do. I bought the aerosol cans off of Amazon.
  2. So seems like there is no issue with the spoons getting bit going that slow. Thanks for the reply. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I just started running meat rigs and was advised to run the meat at around 1.9 to 2.2 mph on the probe and no faster. I'm sure people run meat along with spoons in the spread at the same time, so what speed do people run at if mixing both in the spread? I figure the spoons wont have much action going that slow. I usually run a 6 rod spread which includes 2 riggers, 2 wire dipseys and 2 lines off of boards and i like to mix it up.
  4. I have a lowrance elite 7 that is connected to the trolling motor on the bow. I also have 2 lowrance HDS units that are networked together, one is in the dash the other is near the back of the boat. The only time I really use the bow unit is when I'm jigging for perch or casting for bass which I dont do very often. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I use the transducer built into my minnkota. I figured it was easier to use that one instead of having the other transducer hanging off the motor. Just make sure you buy the correct adapter to connect the two together. I have not noticed any interference although when I'm on the bow I'm not really using the other fish finder. 6. That is the jist of what maker of torpedo weighted steel claims. There is a long thread on here from over the winter where we discussed this exact topic. I have a couple of reels set up with 200ft of weighted steel backed by 19 strand. They work well. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Went 4 for 6. 180 to 210 was best. I was a little east of pier, from what I hear west was better. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. I'm heading up to olcott tomorrow morning with my wife and daughter. I have no idea where to begin trolling for the day, I havent been up there in over a month. If someone would give me a little guidance on where to start I would greatly appreciate it. Shallow or deep, east or west? Thanks
  11. I use tufline micro lead on convector 30d reels and can fit 300yds of 30 lb braid under 10 colors easily. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Are you using crop oil or another surfacant mixed with it? Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I would suggest the itroll also. It is infinately adjustable unlike the others which allows you precisely dial in your speed if you want to. It is very well built and very easy to install. I heard the customer service is great if you ever need it. I have had mine for 4 years and have had zero issues and I use it a lot. In regards to the hunt mode, you get a free trail period with it when you buy the unit. I tried using it and it works well but you can not adjust it in the fly which I did not like so I did not purchase the feature at the end of the trial period. 14. Well that sucks. Do they ever close the Olcott launch? I plan on heading back up on saturday. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. The right side of the launch has been closed. The left side of the launch has been open, we used it this past weekend. Not sure if that changed after sunday. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  21. They will fit. All the major brands are interchageable. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. You should run your mag divers inside closer to the boat. The regular divers should be run outside and higher than the mags. Same rule applies for leadcore and copper lines. That way you can reel in a higher shallower line over the deeper inside line. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I was not aware that the cable was only rated for 12 pound weights. I used the cable on 16lb weights last year and I am fortunate It never broke. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  25. Get some red led light strips and attach them under the lip of your gunnels. The light will shine down and illuminate everything and you won't loose your night vision. I use them when we're night fishing for walleye mostly. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
