Steel high slide diver...
Pursuit 2670 replied to skinny420's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
You can use the lite bites as a regular slide diver by not putting the line through the lite bite arm thus bypassing that feature. They will still function fine. Sent from my LM-G820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

It gives temp readings in 5 ft increments or it can be set at max depth to find the running depth of ur lures to the foot. Sent from my LM-G820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

You have plenty of time because it times out after 45 seconds. I used it to test my leadcores by letting out the cores and then clipping on the TD and letting it slide down to the lure and then checking the max depth. I tested the slide divers on a 1 and 3 setting on several different days and in different directions On the same days to confirm the readings. I switched to the lite bites because i primarliy fish for walleye on erie and they trip everytime so you wont drag any small fish around. If i only fished ontario for kings i probably would not have switched from my deeper divers. Sent from my LM-G820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I tested both wire line and 40 lb braid. I used the larger ring on the divers when i tested them to try and replicate the size of my deeper divers that i was used to using. All you have to do is let your diver out to whatever line amount you want to test then clip on the TD and let it slide down the line to the diver on its own. I would either hold the rod parallel to the water or place it in the rod holder parallel to the water. It was easy to tell when it reached the diver becuase the rod top would start bouncing. When it does, just pop the diver and reel in the diver and look at the reading on the TD to see the max depth. The only issue i ever had was when i went thru the motions of testing it with say 200 ft of line out only to find out that the TD didnt reset and would have to start the process all over again. Trolling Motor Battery recommendations
Pursuit 2670 replied to njg0621's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I agree with everything Fat Trout said. You have to keep the batteries charged at all times if you want them to last. There is no benefit to running them down repeatedly and then leaving them partially charged. When i bought my boat i bought two group size 30 agms for my 24v system. The second year i noticed that they would only last a couple hours before i had problems with them steering the boat. I use my bow mount for steering and a kicker for thrust. I checked the voltage after charging and they both seemed fine. I checked them after fishing one day and found that one of them was drained down and the other was fine. I later learned that when you have a good battery and bad battery connected together in a 24v system the bad battery will start draining the good battery while under load which is exactly what happened to me. I replaced the 30 series agm's with two 30 series from walmart for a third of the price and am happy with them. They have served me well for 3 years with no issues whatsoever. I charge them immediately when i get home. Also make sure you at buying fresh batteries off the rack. One of the agms i was shipped was 2 years old when i got it and i didnt realize it until after the fact. Sent from my LM-G820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Slide Divers on Wire Rod?
Pursuit 2670 replied to VanderLaan's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
[/url] His method works well. Just make sure you use the heavy braid between wire and mono. Sent from my LM-G820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Im pretty sure that you cant share a transducer between an elite and an HDS unit. They both have to be HDS units with ethernet or both Elite Ti to share by wifi Sent from my LM-G820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Have you tried adjusting the one you have? Usually when you lose depth at faster speeds it is an issue with placement and not a defective transducer. Sent from my LM-G820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
