  2. What an amazing transition. Camping here for the weekend
  3. I have a quick question for anyone who has any advice on the topic. Today i towed my dads boat on Seneca from Long Point to the Montour Marina. I was wondering how people who are towing get the boats they are towing safely docked. We did it safely, but it was not smooth at all. i used my kicker motor to get slow enough to ease him into the dock and then we made it work. The conditions were basically perfect but i was curious as to how other people go about this? I am a boater and i am sure i will encounter this situation again so any advice is appreciated.

  5. Is it me or is there a serious lack of advertising for the derby this year?
  6. They hit Purple Alpena Diamonds all day. Just bring enough of them to rig your poles.
  7. Sk8man, can you post a pic? i fish with Seth Green and am always looking for better ways to store leaders....
  8. Tim, my wife has a cottage in hector and there are a lot of good spots around there. Fish the points, in my experiences i have had the best luck on the west side of the lake across from Hector trolling North. I am not a pro, i do my best and i have had amazing days on Seneca. But... it has been an extreme challenge as of late. For example we caught 19 fish in 6 hours the day before the derby last year... then caught four fish the whole derby. Good luck!
  9. I have a Mercury 9.9 25 inch shaft that does a great job on my 24.5 ft, 1986 Chaparral Sport Fisherman that weighs 3500 lbs dry. Tops out at about 6 knots, can get down to under 1 knot with ease.
  10. I use an e-z steer that connects the two motors together (two brackets and a rod with heim joints...inboard to outboard). I can tell you it was a game changer. I think it cost 200-300 but it was way worth it being able to steer from the helm. https://ezsteer.com/fit-guide
  11. I have a 5.8l omc cobra 351 ford windsor and use all marine parts for replacements.
  12. What an awesome time!!! Thanks for all the hard work putting this together. Boated 19 fish, first time ever fishing cayuga.
  13. Clute park was packed today. Not to say the swimming area wasnt cut off. I didnt notice when i drove by...
  14. I saw a school of them swim by my wifes families dock 3 weeks ago.
  15. Seneca is definitely picking up! A lot of my friends did well this last weekend (i didnt fish). Nick is a standup guy and his knowledge and advice, which is always offered up generously has helped me out tremendously on Seneca.
  16. I fished the south end last weekend 7/7 7/8 and caught a couple LL. All by the painted rock over 200-150 FOW, all off of a white and red, black dot stinger. I had four very good days in May and June on the south end which produced Many fish. However, i would reccomend taking Lakebound88’s advice as i have struggled recently at the south end. There are tons of fish early in the morning at 150-200 where the canal meets the lake. Trolling speed varied from 1.5 to 2.5
  17. I basically only fish Seneca..... I dont know wtf is going on. The lake is definitely in a transition period of some sorts. I know that most of the pike i have caught have had this redish slime on them for the last 3 years. I will say this though, i saw the exact same thing you are describing on Cayuga in 2015. Not that this helps now, but if you see that again and the fish are not too far gone (red gills) you can call the DEC and they will come get them and take them to Cornell to figure out what they have.
  18. Hopefully the weather permits them to destroy those nasty, vile creatures. I have a pair of scissor strategically located on my boat for every fish that comes up with a lampeey on it.
  19. Great Job!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome tournament and thank you Nick! We fished the south end 7-9 biggest fish was a 4lb brown
