  1. Big Jon multi axis for board rods and Big Jon HD's for divers.
  2. Most of my fishing season is focused on walleye in LE and I rely on leadcore. I have used Bass Pro's and Suffix and cant tell the difference. Both brands run fine and hold up for years...but I'm not dealing much with fleas or drag screaming runs.
  3. hmmm.... This wouldn't be the only time I bought something that I'll never use...and the treadmill was much more expensive. Good luck with the sell.
  4. Cabela depthmaster rods (8'6" planer board) are all I use and they do a great job. No reason to spend more. If you're pulling in line planers, you'll see the bite off the the board, buy also when the soft rod tips break cadence from the swells.
  5. Absolutely. They should've requested the assistance of the local field and stream or required applications (with interviews) of interested, qualified hunters. But, yea, I love the idea. Put some sort of control on their population besides car traffic.
  6. Tangent to this... I've only been hunting for a few years, so I don't have an entrenched perspective on this question, but has NY ever done much to control the population of its suburban deer? I live in southern Erie county and we are overrun with them. Nearly every time I drive down the time I see multiple deer along the Cheektowaga stretch. I have to think there's been quite a few people hurt or worse in car accidents because of them. ****, I've taken our two in the last three years. I'm not advocating what these guys did or suggesting they should be exterminated, but seems like the experts could put forward a couple suggestions to control their population instead of leaving the task to motorists just trying to get from point A to point B.
  7. They'd eat themselves out of house and home in a year or two. Pickerel on the other hand, after getting some BG going would be a cool experiment!
  8. smoking hot deal. I have the exact same set up...5 - TX22s and 1 - TX44.
  9. We had one that size in our raspberry patch this summer. Thankfully it was just off the ground. One night I got in there with some foam spray and took it out. Easy, peasy. They never stung me or the kids...just the wife, repeatedly.
  10. Thanks for clarifying. I own multiple 330's and have bought two of them, literarily NIB, for what you are asking for 1. While I understand that this was fantastic deal, I'm not interested in spending that type of money on those reels.
  11. Thanks for getting back to me...that's out of my league.
  12. interested in the the 330's. Are you asking $130 for all three or $130 a piece?
  13. I bought a box of them (from Cabela's) and I can't get the damned things together. What's the trick?
  14. If your married to leadcore, I'd run a 10 color with as big of a drop weight as needed to get to your desired depth.
  15. I second this. Running that much leadcore will definitely lead (no pun intended) to some pretty bad tangles...
  16. In fantastic/like-new shape. $40 plus shipping via Venmo or Paypal. Pick up available in Springville, NY or Chautauqua Lake area.
  17. For me, it's been slow. Couple trips out of Buffalo and a couple out of Catt with nothing much to show. I worked the weigh station for the STWA derby the first Sunday of the derby and only a handful of fish were weighed in. From talking around, it sounds like the night bite went later into the month that it normally does.
  18. Right on. If I was a dedicated musky guy, I'd probably pony up for a nicer casting rod, but for the handful of casting days I do a year, it's a good fit. For trolling, I use my LE and LO dipsy set ups.
  19. I have a Cabela's brand musky rod that I got for less than $100 and it has held up just fine.
  20. Might want to pull apart that top carb and give it a good cleaning. Pay attention to the reed valves...you might be flooding the cylinder.
  21. Awesome boat. I just wish they'd move away from the Versatrack and put some factory installed gunnel top side mounted tracks... Not a fan of the versatrack...just scrapes away paint and gets in the way.
