  1. Found em ! Straight out in 220. Small pod of hungry fish. Got a couple matures, doubled up, lost another mature at the boat, a skipper, and a teen. When this kid hooked up on his first king, it did what I hoped it would. Outside dipsy set at 169, quickly went to 360. What a battle. And then when the fish hit the deck I haven't heard laughter like that in awhile. It's safe to say he had fun and wants to come back and battle king's again. Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk
  2. A buddy has his nephew in from Mass. Hopefully we just find a few !thanks all
  3. Anyone care to share what's up ? Heading out this afternoon and hearing everything from 60-390. Prob gonna sneak around inside and see what the graph says, if nothing going on gonna head out deep and play around. Any and all help appreciated !
  4. Solid job my friend. Wish I could have been there but work was way more fun..... Oh wait, no, it wasn't.
  5. Your boys are on the school of unicorns ! That's amazing
  6. I think your confusing weighted steel with "wire"
  7. Props can be changed alot easier than motors. If your 5 is fine the 6 will prob perform about the same, but what prop will be on the new kicker can make a world of difference.
  8. Deathgrip is by far a great bang for your buck. Not as light as some of the expensive tripods, a little less smooth than the expensive heads, but totally worth the money. Get the carbon fiber model.
  9. Will you ship ?
  10. Right out of his driveway. The balls on some people
  11. Pics or link would def help in this situation.
  12. I remember seeing you as well. I ran back to where we tagged that fish, water was perfect, great temp, scum line, marks... But no takers. I literally hit it from every angle and was 2.2-3.0. changed out gear about 20x. My buddy was out as well, ran down to Wilson and went east, also nada. I'll bet somebody somewhere had a good day though, I hope.
  13. Maybe the opposite and make sure to put a distinct bend in each, to be certain they pull out like wingers ?
  14. This spoon prob has 8 layers of paint on it. We had done one similar to this, and used it on a trip with @jeremeygoodison and was hooked up, and lost in about 10 minutes. Long story behind the original spoon, and the box, but sometimes people come into your life for a reason. My son is 6, so maybe he will part with some of the collection later in life but for now, he's pretty attached to every spoon we make.
  15. In and out, fast and slow, east to west and west to east, deep to shallow..... made some memories, but was a very slow, slow day. First king came in 3 minutes before the 4 rod spread was even out, on a custom painted mag spoon my son did. My old man sure had a heck of a time bringing this spunky silver in. I can't wait to see the GoPro footage. Then nada. The fish seem to have spread out and the graph looked bare most of the day. Either way, great day on ladyO.
  16. I disagree. It only took me 1 open water king... Seriously. Was on Craigslist shopping for a boat on the ride home. Dan - amazing vid, but I expect nothing less from you ! Keep up the good work.
  17. Nice work on a great trip !
  18. I'm definitely NOT arguing against Yamaha, but my Honda's are great.
  19. Best looking Atlantic I think I've ever seen local. Nice job !!
  20. That girl is my hero! Can't wait to hookup again and watch the goof troop fish...
  21. I know that feeling all too well.... Nothing can be said other than knock another and try again. At least you had a nice show, ish
  22. I find the best and only way to properly "set" my okumas, Coldwater or convector, is to reel against the drag to "free" it up. So when letting out, sometimes loosening the drag doesn't work as it should, so when I reel against the drag or just reel in line, it frees the drag and everything seems to be perfect. Hope that makes sense
