    It was so clear at P'ville, my wife thought we were in danger of grounding when we were in 25' of water. Found some marks out at 70, but no takers. Called it early and got back just in time to get hailed on at the dock.

    I've heard each ounce is good for 7 feet, but I have not measured this.. Not sure if it holds true for all lines.

    Old thread, but I just saw it.... It's a shame. I grew up in Lakeland and my father often took me out on Onadaga. I remember the distinct petrochemical smell that was sooo strong in the air. (This was back in 1968) And we would always have to wash the boat when we got home...

    Just wondering if anyone else is having any success using either the Brads Superbaits or the Yakima Spin-N-Fish? I know they are a mostly west-coast area type of lure, but they do have a good meat rig style of spin and they can be filled with scent. I have never noticed anyone mentioning them in the reports, but maybe someone has had luck?

    Saw a nice king with a stick bait hanging from its mouth when I was out to Wilson. Looked fresh, so I tried to make a big circle back to it with lines in the water to at least retrieve the lure. To no avail, current had moved it and I couldn't find it again. It happens....... check those leaders, drag and knots...

    The electric LED flare is SUPER bright. I tested it of course when I got it and I wasn't ready for how bright the light is. I was seeing spots for several minutes after I saw the flash. While it is on, it flashes the SOS distress code. It would definitely work at night....

    So I made the switch, to USCG approved LED distress signal / flare replacement. Was wondering if anyone else made the switch and what you thought about the electronic device vs the standard pyro flare? If you haven't seen them yet, check out www.siriussignal.com . Aside from remembering to change out dated flares, I didn't like the idea of a hot fire on the boat when you are already in trouble.....

    Launched out of Wilson around 7. Found a nice inside bite 150-250 FOW. Lots of bait and the steelies were aggressive. Also managed 2 kings. All on dipsies, out 130-150. Spoon bite, Purple and black early then the Fat Nancy produced for the rest of the day. Boxed out at 2pm. Great trip.

    Went out of Oswego last week, found a few browns around the harbor, but we worked for them. We wanted to check out the Nine Mile power plant discharge area, but that is apparently shut down for repairs, so no warm water there.
