Got my lines sucked up into another boats motor at least once a year for the past 3 years. Last guy said he didnt know.. but his motor wouldnt run because of my lines all wrapped up in his prop. I actually was able to reel him in almost all the way to my boat. Lol. I followed him to the dock and he gave me $20.. did not cover 4 lines and 4 lures.
I use sticks on lead core a lot with success. That being said, sometimes it works better than spoons. ..sometimes spoons work better than sticks. Gotta run some of each and then modify to the hottest lure/depth.
Dont harm the trout? Shoulda thought about that the last time you stuck one in the face with a treble hook and then forced its way to the boat in a torurous motion against its will. Lol. Cmon. Lighten up.
The alewive to lake trout ratio in seneca must be about 1 million to 1. Never seen so much bait in a lake. Someone needs to do something about it. More laker stocking.. tiger muskies.. something. Makes it very difficult to fish when the fish are always full and lazy.
Man. I didnt even notice that. Figured it would.be open all year too. Get them out of the lake.. but give them time to spawn and reproduce. ?? That dont make sense.
I've tried it a few times. Never done well.. and it's harder than you think. Seems like a good idea. But if it was more people would be doing it. I've only tried trolling. Not live bait.
Thank you for the heads up. Figured that rain and storms would shut them fleas down. One good thing about the storms. One bad thing is they also sent a tree down in my front yard.
Pike population has been declining like crazy from the bubble skin disease last 4 or 5 years. They should eventually bounce back but will be awhile. Some kind of parasite that gets in their skin and eventually kills them. They end up bobbing/floating around right before they die. They are suddenly very difficult to target. Does anyone know how bad the fleas are now in owasco? Are they at least manageable? I'm going down tomorrow regardless. Just trying to get a heads up.
I seen you out there. That's tough fishing. That sun was hot... I even had a roof over me and was roasting. Plenty of lakers around, glad you got a few.
There are still good days there. But not like cayuga at least that I have experienced in awhile. Not 20-30 lakers in a day. That is a reality on cayuga. Like I said it's a lot of work. But is feasible. Maybe there is a day like that on seneca once in awhile still.
That lake has so many lakers its unbelievable. You could literally catch 3 times that if you spent a whole day fishing. Definitely the new lake trout capitol. ...only thing is...They are lake trout. Starts to feel more like work than good fishing after awhile. But at least they are still real easy to catch. Unlike Seneca.
There is one in moravia where John's grocery used to be. Its reopened now. It's called Maxis tackle box. All the bait and tackle you need. Now. That being said. If you live in homer you should know that forest fisheries in homer also has bait and tackle.. except for Sunday's. He ain't working sundays for no one.
