  1. It was fun back then. We would fish off point breeze for a week in July and recall the salmon weighting 28-42lbs one trip. Visiting from Lake Michigan it was a huge trip for us . Seems currently Lake Michigan has the bigger kings,
  2. Thanks, that makes sense. I just wasn’t sure since the FH probe I believe Is bigger if that impacted it.
  3. Seems both have their pros and cons, but ultimately which one has more blow back all else being equal? Thanks
  4. thanks, I have saltist for all my reel’s except these I am setting up. Is 200 considered longer? I don’t want to set up a high speed if it is a tough experience to use it. Appreciate the insight.
  5. Same discussions we had in the 80’s and 90’s. Just more expensive equipment being lost.
  6. Thanks, I read it can be difficult to mess with, so appreciate it.
  7. Can you reel leader, steel or copper , backing to find right amounts like leadcore, then reverse back onto another reel? They are expensive so figured I would ask first;-)
  8. Older post but I was curious how the sealines have held up?
  9. Going to either set up a 200 weighted steel or 32lb copper, can get a deal on sealine for 1/2 the precise of seagate. Likely only used a couple weeks a year, Is the sea gate worth double? What size is needed. Thank you
  10. Michigan angler heavy bands break at 5-6lb might be able to see small fish and still be heavy enough for bigger fish or deep water.
  11. I just received a pair as well. The craftsmanship is something else. I ordered booms to make 37”. The machining exceeded my expectations and so far impressed with the product.
  12. You also really need to be a people person, regardless of how big your boat is it can get pretty small with people on board.
  13. Going to run these koakanee out if a small boat, how light of rod can I use and still make it sorta fun to reel one in? Also any specific rod recs would be great. Wa think the 8’3” ugly stick Thanks
  14. Just to update Garmin’s response on P66 and UHD, they are shown as not compatible because you lose the speed feature, it will not track. Of no consequence to me, but wanted to share the response.
  15. Thanks, the one I was looking at is 50/200 . I will try the p66 though thanks
  16. Yes only issue is Garmin says the p66 isn’t compatible with UHD and newer models. I am going to call and see what the issues would be.
  17. Not sure on the difference between the p66 vs standard garmin dual 50/200 besides p66 is 600 vs 500 watts. Garmin says the UHD models are not compatible with P66, going to call and get clarity as my ice unit is a 73cv UHD and would save money to put the transducer on that vs a new additional finder. Also for $80 might worth trying the dual frequency garmin transducer, not sure how much detail you would need for the wide cone purposes.
  18. I am will using the P66 on a different brand next to the garmin. I am not sure if garmin are compatible. They are really quick to respond to questions.
  19. With the new longer shaft garmin kraken likely to not mount a transom transducer for the garmin and the gt56 on the trolling motor for SI. The the P66 off the back. I believe with the new longer shaft brushless from minnkota this is probably an option as well for those is smaller boats,
  20. Garmin just announced force trolling motors with much longer shafts and gr-56 built in, about time!
  21. I plan on doing that, my gt56 runs at pretty different frequencies so I don’t think the p66 at 50/200 will have an issue. I am adding the furuno 588 next to 93sv. that being said, I was on Lake Huron and the gt56 was fine and picked up cannon balls at 100 feet laker fishing.
