We fished out of Sodus Point this weekend, having never done any salmon trolling in the past. I had posted a thread on this site last month asking for tips fishing without a fish hawk etc. I had a great response to that thread and we were able to get some fish on the boat. We took some time to get everything setup as none of us had ever used flashers, meat rigs, flies, etc. The only thing I was familiar with was the spoons. We were able to catch a 20lb king as well as 3 others in the 5-15lb range. We caught a 10lb and a 5lb steelhead as well as a nice Atlantic. On the way in, we decided to try our hand at some brown trout in 40FOW and pulled in a nice 10lb brown in the first two minutes! It was a great time and we learned a LOT. We caught most of the fish in 150 FOW with the big one and steelies out in 450FOW. All were about 50ft down (right at the thermocline - which we could easily see on our electronics). I REALLY appreciate all of the info on this site but especially the locals who stopped and gave us TONS of tips and info. Everyone was so nice up there. Down here in PA most guys are pretty tight lipped about their info. It was refreshing! Thank you!

Yeah that's the brown for sure - I couldn't find a pic of the Atlantic on my phone. Waiting to hear back from my buddies to see if they had one. We caught it at first light during the pandemonium we ran into at that time. Ha!
