B60 Placement

Looking for opinions on best placement for new B60 transducer? Second guessing my red circle.

Depends on the angle of the element you have.  Is is 0? 12? 20?

You have to measure the dearise for the area you plan to install the transducer and be within 4*. For example a 20* tilted element can fit a 16-24* deadrise. 

 

Other than that, you want to look forward of where you plan to mount it and make sure there are no strakes, thru-hulls, or water pick ups. All these create aeration in the water and sonar doesn't work through air.
