HIN number

Anybody know where to find the HIN # on a 78 searay 240ht?? Not on the starboard transom. got a great price if I can find what is needed to get it registered.

Its not located right below the bumper....? i know on my 84 sea ray it is. Hard to see as it is..

Dear SFARM,

The HIN number is located where you said! I owned a 79 Searay 24 Hardtop and the molded in HIN was just under the rub rail, close to the stern eye loop. Use caution if the number has been removed or modified, Letters and numbers are about 3/8 inch height. Beware!! Lots of stolen boats around!

Some of the early Sea Ray's & others of that vintage & older, had a stamped aluminum plate affixed on the inside of the transom.

Thanks.... the back is smooth under the rub rail there is no sign of any type of work done to the area. Im storing it for the owner and he has a title for it, so how will it work if the HIN is not displayed on the boat if I get checked?? I will look inside the transom as soon as I can. here is a pic.

Well no HIN plate inside the transom. Looks like the owner keeps it. Thank you all for your help,you saved me from makeing a big mistake.
