Getting ready to replace boot on OMC outdrive.

How do you go about doing this? Does the outdrive have to come off to change the boot?

The best thing to do is buy a repair manual. I have been able to do all the maintenance and repairs with instructions in the manual. I had to remove and reseal my transom bracket last winter and I couldn't have done it without the book.

As stated above I would buy a manual. Actually I have one from my old boat that I could sell but I would have to ship it. You need to remove the outdrive which is not hard. there is a shift cable that needs to be removed and then you can take the bearing caps etc off to remove the outdrive. This is based on the assumption its the old style not a Cobra.
