canandaigua question

Hi new to the finger lakes after giving up on Erie, now we don't have downriggers, or super fancy gear, but did utilize, dipsy divers and Jet-divers in Erie,with lead core or copper wire, will they work in Canandaigua?, any particular setups, heck can we go back to the old lake way of a 2-4 oz. weight with leaders, any help or advice would be much appreciated for a couple guys who just want to catch fish and stay out of folks way, Thanks in advance guys......

Yep should work just fine, was on that lake last weekend and slammed the rainbows on chrome anything. about 2 to 3 mph in 120 to 160 fow.
