1984 ProLine 23 WalkAround- CHEAP

Recommended Posts

Alas, my baby must move on. This boat is a 23 foot ProLine Walkaround Cuddy, and is being sold as is, without a trailer. First of all, lets make it clear- this boat needs engine work. As far as I know, the engine seems seized ( at least the crank shaft has done some sort of bad damage cus it doesnt start). It has a brand new alternator, replaced last september, as well as a new bilge pump and bearing in the lower unit, as well as a new shift cable for the transmission. Most of the other parts in the engine are fully functional, and in no ned of replacement. It is a 4-cyl engine Mercruiser 488, and is phenomenal with gas mileage. The lower unit works well, and has given me zero problems over the last few seasons besides the bearing replacement when I purchased it in 2005. It has a cabin, which sleeps two, and comes with a radio, which also is in need of some TLC. Along with a full canvas top, as well as side windows and a drop curtain for the back, you will also get with it functional deck lights, a lighted compass, cushions for the cabin and seats, and new nav lights. It last saw water in early may of this season, and was heavily fished last season from july- september. Those of you familiar with local fishing out of the Genny might recognize her; she's the only ProLine for miles, and was out there religiously.

Who knows, it might only take a little work and she might be yours to play with in no time....great project!

I am open to offers.

Here is a pic of her (but remember, no trailer!):

A 488 is basically the same engine as a 470, 165,170 etc. . They were made by mercury. Block was merc. design aluminum block with a ford cyld head. 4 cyld closed system cooling. They had there share of problems. If you got a good one your good ta go. If not nothing but trouble. If per say the engine is bad as it sounds like, best to replace it with a 3.0 (140) or something else that is reasonable to fit.
