Cannon Downrigger Booms....

I dont know if this is the proper ? for this page but i was wondering if any one knows how to take apart the extendable booms on cannon riggers? I just bought a used set of mag 20's and had to replace one of the collets (plastic sleeves) that locks the boom in the desired length. So i decided to replace them all. The problem i am having is removing the collet from the boom. There is a little nipple that holds the collet in place to prevent it from falling out. So do i have to actually break the nipple off or is there a way to get it out? Also, how to you reinstall the new ones without breaking the nipples off?

I got it! In case anyone wants to know rather than pulling it all the way threw the collet push it out the other end. Falls right out!
