Seeking tips on Canandaigua North end

Recommended Posts

Want to try washing some spoons and perhaps even try deep jigging for the first time, on a weekday night, and Canandaigua (town) is a 20 minute drive which is a lot nicer when you're headed into the night.

Any advice on where to go off the public boat launch? Unfortunately can't go very far very fast on a 9.9hp and would probably like to stay closer to the shore but still interested in hitting some depth in search of trout of any kind.

Thanks a lot!

With light winds predicted you should be fine to head south from the north end. The first major dropoff headed south will be in the area of the pump house which is on the west shore a little ways south of the yacht club. Start in 65-70 feet of water if you are looking for lakers.
