SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

First of all a Big Thank You!!! to Fat Nancy's for doing the work it takes to have their "Pre-Fish Friday Shoutout" It is an event that we look forward to every year, having done our first last year (which was crazy because last year it was probably our 3rd time out Salmon Fishing on our own boat). My group consits of the quintesential weekend warrior. The ProAm is obviously the big event for this weekend, however I think that there are a lot of people like us who dream of fishing the pro-am but realisticly think that we might as well take the expensive buy-in and throw that much money right overboard. This "shootout" that Nancy's has done is a perfect low cost one day tourny that my crew looks forward to taking a day off work for. With the timing of the tourney I am pretty sure that some of those Pro's are fishing that tournament so we feel we can really guage how we're coming along.

Last year this tournament was a six fish box and this year they changed that to three. That would be an insignificant change to us since we only caught 3 last year and 2 of those combined weighed 10 pounds. Needless to say we didn't fair to well. This year was a bit different this year our lines hit the water at 5:30 and by 6:15 we had more weight in King Salmon on our boat than we did all of last years tourney!!! That means we landed one pretty nice fish almost 27#. We ultimately picked up 4 more fish and weighed in a respectable box. The fishing was kind of slow just really a steady Pick. We lost a couple that would have improved our score but in the end we weighed a 26#, 19#, and 10#. For a box of 55#. So not bad all in all.

Fishing was tough like I said, our probe had a dead battery and we had no replacement so we gave ourselves a wide spread depths and presentations. It seemed that our rigger with a long lead to a white/greendot spinny w/ a Mirage Fly was the best it caught two of the Fish we weighed in. (The Biggest Two) Anyway here are a couple of pics. Big Thanks again to Fat Nancy's
