Pulling the Trigger!

I run as a diver rod, paired w a Convector 30 linecounter & it works great.

IF I am only running 2 dipsey diver setups, what would my ideal rod length be? I am looking into picking up 2 of the depthmaster rods topped with the Okuma Convector 30 Reels.

Bid difference of opinion on that.  I have the nine foot Depthmaster with the Convecter 30D because with the rod holder flat, it keeps the wire away from the rigger rods.  I fish out of an open bow 18' Starcraft though - I can easily move forward in the boat to assist netting. 

 

I've read good things about shorter rods giving you more control over a large fish but don't have any personal experience.  I'd love to try one of the shorter Fish Doctor roller rods some day.
