Thursday went 2 for 2, the NE wind had pushed the cold water under the warmer water and scattered the fish.  I fished from 30ft to 120ft.  Found a very defined surface thermal break out at 120 foot (44 to 38 degrees) but it was only about 5 ft deep with ice water underneath.  I did manage a small steelhead and a small laker…at least no skunk.

Friday went 4 for 4. I tried in close early 15-30ft, but could not move a rod or mark a fish.  I trolled out slowly and picked up small King (like <1lb).  I marked very few fish, and was just about to call it a day when my downrigger fired with my largest King of the year 18.4lb on orange crush NK28.   On a whim (desperation) I put out a white/green dipsy, protroll and “duck fart†fly…..caught anther nice king 16.5lb and a nice ~15lb laker on it.

Saturday went 4 for 5.  Stayed outside the pack and was rewarded with 4 nice Kings 15-16+ lbs.  7 color leadcore, mixed veggie spoon and orange crush NK28 were the ticket.   One King had a lamprey on it when I netted it.  The 5th fish was a nice king that threw the hook after the second run….never got a close look, but felt the same size as the others.

Nice catch!! We went 3-6 on Thursday with a 9am start. 40-60 fow. 120 dipsey, 5 color core, 20 and 40 on the riggers. Most on small SSW and a white backed black NK 28. 17 lbs king, 12 lbs king and a 10 lbs laker. We were hoping for the crush fest we had the week before. At least 2 of our other releases were kings.
