Seneca 6/7 report

Launch:  Lodi

Area fished:  Lodi

Crew:  Solo

Time:  Started out at 6am and fished until 12 noon total for day
Direction headed:  trolled north right out of the gate on east side
Wind:  out of South
Surface temp:  49 to start on east side and 55 over by Dresden
Down temp:  NA
Setup: 

Rod 1 – 3 color core with purple michigan stinger

Rod 2 – 5 color core with watermelon michigan stinger

Rod 3 – 3 way swivel with 1# ball and NK28 mountain dew spoon.  Wanted to stay near bottom or bounce on bottom
Depth of water fished over:  30 ft to 100ft
Results:  Nothing happening

 

Area fished:  Decided to pull up rods and cruised up near Sampson.  Thought I would give northern pike fishing a try

Direction headed:  trolled north and south

Wind:  out of South
Surface temp:  49 to start
Down temp:  NA
Setup:

Rod 1 – Flat line with 3/4oz little cleo

Rod 2 – Flat line with silver color stick bait

Depth of water fished over:  6ft to 12ft
Results:  Nothing happening

 

Area fished:  Cruised over to Dresden  area

Time:  Spent about an hour here

Direction headed:  trolled north with the waves as it was bumpy going against and difficult when solo
Wind:  out of South
Surface temp: 55 over by Dresden
Down temp:  NA
Setup:

Rod 1 – 3 color core with watermelon michigan stinger using walleye planer board

Rod 2 – wireline, #1 dipsy out 160 ft on 2.5 setting using NK28 mountain dew spoon

Rod 3 – wireline, #1 dipsy out 200 ft on  0 setting using mountain dew paddle and fly

Depth of water fished over:  100ft to 140ft
Results:  1 laker on Rod 2. 

Word of caution.  Not an expert here.  Just love to fish.  Hopefully someone can learn from my successes and/or failures.  As always,  I gladly welcome positive reinforcement and/or constructive criticism to improve my angling.

Pleasure to meet you. Yes I was considering going to Cayuga but had a curfew from the wife and didn't want to get stuck in ithaca traffic. More time on water. Also i don't know Cayuga as well. My wife is actually pretty understanding. I just needed to be home by certain time. Actually talked her into getting a fish license on Saturday. Now just need to catch fish to get her interested.

As far as long report. Copy and paste is wonderful thing.
