SPRO swivels for copper HD & Basic

Recommended Posts

I only had one HD SPRO swivel left when I built up a new 400 copper yesterday so I used it between the Power Pro and the copper. I used a more basic 80lb. SPRO swivel between the copper and Leader. My only fear is that the radius bend in the copper going through the basic SPRO is tighter. I did run the  copper thru the eye twice. What do you think fellas. Are any of you having good luck with the basic swivels or are they breaking the copper? Thanks

I use the #8 power swivels (50 lb test) for my connections because they are nice and small as well as strong and go through the rod eyes and tips well. i only loop the copper once and then make a lot of tight twists up the main wire and have never had one separate.

The 50 lbs swivel is fine. But I would only go through once. They are probably better to use from the copper to the leader. I've had the knot on the leader side fail on the 150 lbs swivels. I've been using the Mustad diamond eyes: (88lbs)
