DIY Window & Hatch Screens

Our boat doubles as a camper and fishing boat so I decided to make my own window and hatch screens to keep the bugs out of the boat, especially those biting and stinging bugs. The biting flies and skeeters have been real aggressive this year, so making these screens was a priority. Each piece of wood has 2 coats of polyurethane to seal out the elements, and they were assembled with stainless steel screws.

Great idea and design on that hatch cover! Well done.

Thanks for the kind words! The top of that 6" bolt has a wing nut and a fender washer on it, so it can be installed by one person from outside the hatch. It's my second design because the first one was more complicated and not as bug-proof.
