Mono has too much stretch and resistance which limits dive depth. For Salmon go with wire. For eyes go with braid

i use braid with a mono backing for fishing walleye on erie's central basin. braid doesn't stretch which makes tripping my divers from the boat much easier. I use the lite bite slide diver. I can get down 50' to 60' with no problem.
