  4. I may be over steping by posting but if anyone is wanting to get into rigger fishing or just wanting to upgrade to electric is goingv to be hard pressed to find a better buy. I remember when I decided to go electric after years hand cranking the heavy weights up. The 1st week I spent most of my time kicking my behind for not switching years ago.I of hand-crankinghard-pressed,,overstepping
  5. Awesome! And thanks for reporting too

  7. Was quite the fiasco. Hunter broke the rod early in the fight with that laker. When we got the fish to the boat Matt broke the net trying to get it over the transom. The net basket and the fish fell on the swim platform. Both guys jumped onto the swim platform and managed to get the fish and broken net onto the deck. Was pretty hysterical.
  8. Glad to see you are finally starting to come around to laker fishing Billy! When you are ready, I will give you a deal on Gambler Rigs!
  9. Agree with Whaler Those older I/O are expensive to fix. Also any Transom / stringer rot which also is very pricey to fix I had a 86 Bayliner Trophy . Over the years I had the motor , lower unit rebuilt . Also some Transom rot . Also the drive to motor shaft replaced . So I would do my due diligence . But I did like the boat .
  10. Decided the next few days looked ugly so I made a solo mission out of the Genny on a 052 heading to 160 FOW. Lines in at 0950 and out at 1535. Fished from 160-220. Went 14-20 with some nice mature kings, some feisty two year olds, great steelies, and 4 skippers. My plan was to run two riggers with spoons and a dipsey with a meat rig... Today the current was running ~0.8kts SSW to NNE...but it was changing and it seemed that the fish were very speed sensitive. Trolling angle was important.. I put the deeper rigger down 92' with MUP'd Route 18 black/white green eye'd ghosts (super mag/mag) and took a rip in 2 min while putting down the other rigger. 13# king to warm up...Nice. Other rigger has Hulk 14's MUP'd (mag/std) at 78' and starts bumping within 30 seconds of being down....Double skippers! Never had that happen before... I didn't get the dipsey in the water until 1130... 10" SD Snowflake with Route 18 matching head. Deadly lately - I may have 30 kings on this set up in the past 5 trips. Within 5 min it was smoking and took my best king of the day...20 min later the fish was released with grace and I was smoked...Fishing solo is a lot of work!!! Snowflake rig back out and another ~14# king came around within 10 min. Then nothing 1200-1300 I didn't see a rod move and I was watching fish fly through my spread (panoptix)...Water was moving...Wind didn't change much...but holy **** my FishHawk couldn't read anything and my spread was moving all over the place...I tried to find the closest thing to straight and could only manage 2.9mph downspeed or higher. I don't mind going that fast but I didn't have the right spread for that. Okay - no more meat rig...MUP over - mags down, free sliders....Steelie time. And it was. From 1330-1530 it was pretty good with some great steelies and teenage kings... Im going to try to add some videos to this post. Please be kind - Im still learning and you all have been so helpful to me. 2skips.mov Steelie4 27 JUL 2026.mp4 bestking 27 JUL 2026.mov

  16. We fished the same days. Inshore, offshore and everywhere in between. Went through 40+ pieces of Rigged Cut Bait each day. Best there is. Boated twenty plus kings each day with nothing over 18. Amazing fishing but still frustrating. Last two hours we fished lakers with Gambler Rigs. Upgraded two of the fish in our box including this guy. Always Something was right next to us. The laker they found was bigger. Also caught on a Gambler Rig.
  17. Fished from 7am until 1pm today. Recent reports were spot on. We started in 200fow, stopped briefly in 150, ran the probe down and saw 60deg water. Out at 200 and down 100 temp was 50, down 120 was 48. We set up and trolled north. 300-400fow and down 110’-95’ was our best water. Boated 5 kings with biggest 20lbs and smallest was 10lbs. Lost at least 6 others. Didn’t lose any tackle!!! No fleas and the nice breeze kept the flies away. 13 year old granddaughter on boat has sore arms. Perfect day on the water.

  20. Last week of August, that will probably line up with the kings moving into the trench. The trench is the deep water between Stony Island and shoreline. It wont be hard for you to find the pack of charter boats out of Henderson wherever they are. Maybe they will be in the shipping lanes between Main Duck and Galoo fishing the 'the wall'. Good Luck.
  21. Anyone fishing out of Sandy Pond last week of August. Lake Champlain angler and boat staying there and looking for help with Tackle, depth, area to fish. Have downriggers and couple rods set up with divers. Appreciate any help. Fished Lake O 25 years ago out of Oswego so happy to be back for vacation/fishing. Thanks in advance. John F/V "The Office"
  22. Thanks for the help.............I didn't think it qualified for Southern shore.
