  1. Yup, I just want to stay away from the Big John's. The sun seems to beat them up pretty good, and we have busted off handles on them.
  2. Im usually a flasher/fly guy too, but when it gets rough, I feel my coppers on the boards tend to fall off when there are flasher/flies on them. I think flasher/fly type baits work well when there is a constant pull. So, when it gets rough out I try to switch over to spoons on the coppers. This summer I had a really HOT J-plug on my 300 copper. It was a #3 Green Mongoose.
  3. Rod length matters, but its the boat that really can tell you how long the leader can be. We run 10' leaders most of the time on our boat. On your spinnies the longer the leader the more whip your going to achieve. For spoons the leader doesn't affect the action. In that case its just a case of how stealthy do you wanna be.
  4. Prolly not in 2009, but we were talking about SOMETHING for 2010! Didn't know if we wanted to do a Bear, Antelope, or Mulie hunt yet. Think we are leaning towards Antelope. The Pig hunt is something my buddy wants to do though. He asked me if Id go along, all expenses paid, and video tape it for him. He wants it for the kill and the grub! I have a hard time eating what I kill. Its in my head!
  5. I'll try to get a picture of what we are using tonight. Fat Nancy's carrys them. They are a HUGE Plano like box that you can fit up to 50 (or maybe more) flashers in depending on what brand flasher your using. We got them at the Oswego Pro-Am loaded with stuff if you were the first 25 (I think) boats to sign up for the Friday tourney. I'm pretty sure its the PLano XL PROLATCH STOWAWAY.
  6. I was amazed at how calm he was in Jax's grasp. I just thought he was tired from trying to get out of the line. When Jax set him down he was GONE!
  7. Do they make a Trojan brand treestand to support ur arse?
  8. Love my new set-up! Raven SST-2 on a 13' Sheffield rod. Mr. Bliss set me up nicely over at Fat Nancy's. Here is the male out of the pool: And, here is the female of the pool:
  9. Here we are chasin chrome and Jax spots a duck tangled in fishing line. All of a sudden he takes off down stream, and picks up this duck and starts talkin to it like it was a newborn. He yells over to me for some help. I go over thinkin he has a HUGE Steely on and I see this:
  10. I would say water color and daily conditions play a big role. However, its what the fish want to eat also. Colors get HOT for a while and then die off as the lake gets flooded with them.
  11. When I have done this Billy its typically with a rubber band. The Dive Bombs on the other hand are very easy to rig up.
