  1. Maybe it was the mate to this? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=26879 Sorry couldn't help myself. Good story. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Yes your right,... those Lakers DO fight, especially in the spring,...but the real truth about your hurtin' arms is that bodacious copper rig you keep bragging about You did real good Carolyn. You'll be making a lot of us jealous real soon with the progress your making.
  3. Kidders Landing, west side a couple miles south of Sheldrake. Two places, O'Malley's and Kidders which are next to each other. We ate there Sunday. Good stop. PS: 11AM, forgot to mention that you'll be able to bring your dog to lunch also. We brought our dog up to O'Malley's and sat on the deck with her. There was another table that had 3 dogs also.
  4. I was put on to Bar Keepers Friend years ago on a boating forum and can't thank the poster enough for the tip. I use the powder and just wet a sponge, sprinkle on some BKF and let it dissolve. Then just wipe it on the hull and let soak a few minutes ( don't let it dry) by the time you get down one side the stains are all but gone were you started. If a little stain is still left then I just wipe it gently with the spong and hose off. That's it. The stuff is amazing and to think of all the time I used to waste cleaning the stains off the water line. Save your time and elbow for a few beers. You can get it just about anywhere if you look for it, Target, Walmart, Grocery store..... http://www.barkeepersfriend.com/where-to-buy/New%20York
  5. Bobber..........this is one of those Chevy vs Ford topics. We can all justify why we use a snubber or not. You'll have to decide what works best for you. Try running a snubber on one dipsey and one without a snubber for at least 5 trips and then decide what you want to do. I've switched back and forth several times and what I've come up with is that I think a snubber is best used in the spring when the lakers are real aggressive and on steroids. Later in the season when the water starts to warm they just don't have the head shaking impact like in the spring. I ditto the "sharp hooks" comment also. You'll know your hooks are sharp enough when you occasionally hook a fish on the side of it's head (foul hook ) when they hit your offering from the side. These are what I use and have been vary satisified with them,... 12" clear. Stiff but yet enough stretch to take the shock. Besides online I think you can get them at Gander Mtn. http://www.lakemichiganangler.com/store ... nubber.htm http://www.tackletheoutdoors.com/Tackle ... roductName
  6. Andy, you get a big for your win. Great time had by all that played. My catch was a little embarrasing to have on the scales and it shows me that I have some work to do. I think we placed 35th out of the 33 boats entered. We'll try again next year for sure. Thanks Split for Chairing this event again this year.
  7. Thanks for sharing. I wear one of these anytime I'm alone and always from Oct to May. http://www.basspro.com/Stearns-Multipur ... _THUMBNAIL You don't even know that you have it on.
  8. You are posting in the 3rd Annual LOU-All. Try this link for the 5th Annual and the dates should work a little better. > viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25023
  9. I'm in with Lil' Buddy this year. With a 3 man crew how many lines can I have? How about the rest of my crew..... I like RR suggestion
  10. Thanks for the tip Sean. I was wondering how long it was going to be before you let the cat out of the bag.....think my luck will improve if I try one of these?
  11. Thanks for the fix. I was in Baltimore the last 5 days for a wedding so fishing wasn't on my list of things to do. Besides reading this report the closest I got to fishing was eating crab cakes,...lots
  12. here is a update from 5/17 > http://www.tompkins-co.org/sheriff/deta ... pageID=648
  13. Ditto Stoutner. Seen better days. Got a few fish and kept one for dinner. I wasn't smart enough to finish my day near Long Point so getting back there from above Levanna took awhile with the no wake restriction . It was like dragging 1k lb weight behind the boat.
  14. I googled up DTR diesel and got this...> http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/
  15. Thanks PK for your post. Because of this thread I was made aware of the Dodge/Cummings. Come to find out a subcontractor that works for me has a `07 Ram/ cummings V6-5.9L and pulls a tool and material trailer. He gets pretty much the same milage towing as you are saying,.... (18 town- 21 highway). I've been pretty much Ford guy for years but that may change if the Ram Cummings is the only real game in town. Thanks again for posting.
  16. Wow, what a beauty. How old do you think that fish is?
  17. I didn't make it out yesterday but reading your report is the next best thing. Thanks for sharing I see you sucked Anthony into manning the 600' copper. Wonder if he'll do that again. Better save some friends for tournament days or you'll have to do that yourself.
  18. ....sorta like this? >
  19. Yo,...Rat. I'm working tomorrow but planning on fishing Sunday. Could you give us a little State of the Lake report? Thanks
  20. I know. ...it's kinda like the new NYS license plates,... right?
  21. Now your talkin' . Just the ticket to haul the marina I want to launch my boat at.
  22. @ $75.00 a ticket for "More than 2 Lines" (I speek from experience) , it would be a lot cheaper to buy a couple stamps at 10 bucks each to run extra lines. You spend $10 for a chance to get a Doe tag and that's on a lottery system. .....and besides. I'm not putting any ideas in Albany's head......They are waaay ahead of us when it comes to ways to levy fees thank you vary much.
  23. ..........> ...what more does a guy need?
  24. Thanks for all the feed back guys. I felt that I’d get real world info that I wouldn’t see elsewhere. Some of the stuff I knew already but I needed to hear it from someone else and most is new stuff to me. The heads up that Has Been posted was pretty interesting. I watched all the videos Ford had on their site about the Eco-Boost engine. Great production and the audio was amazing in surround sound. Made me want to run out and buy one,......but not today. Pretty pricy. We’ll have to give it some time to prove itself. Thanks H B. I agree with the consensus that the payment book or the higher price for diesel fuel & additives will quickly erode any savings in higher MPG. Both my vehicles are paid for, (also `08 Explorer V6 195 hp) and get the same milage while towing but I may be forced into giving up the van within the year so that is why I’m starting to look for a replacement. Thanks for the input so far.
  25. ....how about a $10.00 stamp for each additional line? That will get their attention and few more bucks.
