  1. Mikejonestkd, That Islander is spotless and in show room condition.
  2. Iceman, Congratulations on your 3rd place!! I second everything you said. We too have been conditioned to know when the readings are from a weak batery. I guess knowing your equipment says something.
  3. Iceman, We too get multiple trips out of our 9V in the fishhawk but we disconnect the battery after each days fishing. Our trips last from 6-12 hours. What is the average lenght of your trips?
  4. Mr. Dinghy, You running a fishhawk?? How many hours do you get out of one charge?? Thanks
  5. Rich, Great report. And YES -- What a way to end the season. Now wishing we hadn't put the boat up so early but my son is already in the hunt mode and if we don't get it done early - well sometimes it is very late - post deer season so as they say you got to stike while the iron is hot!!
  6. Fishmedic, Welcome to the board. You'll find a lot of great info and guys/gals on this site who are more than willing to share the information. Must say it does get tight lipped (as always) around LOC Derby and Pro/Am times - so don't be offended if you don't get replies around those times. How wonderful that your first mate is your best mate!!! What a special relationship you must have.
  7. slipbob, explain a microclick drag?? not sure what that is. Thanks,
  8. Need some advice for a friend!!! He has a 6 hp 4 stroke kicker ... what size boat would that be the best fit. Any commetns on Nissan?? Thanks,
  9. Here's a couple links that might be helpful. http://www.johnson.com/en-US/About.Us/C ... Canada.htm http://www.tohatsu.com/tech_info/oil_gas.html
  10. Mark, Spot on!! No reason you need to be a licensed USCG Captain to have your name on the top 20 posting. That's BS in my opinion.
  11. HeavyA, No idea on the capacity of the big jon reels. I run the Mastercraft reels with one oneach side of the boat with home made masts. Sorry I can't be of help there. Maybe the big Jon website can tell you if you ask the tech boys??
  12. CB, You lose a lot more tackle "sans snubber". Voice of experience when in a hurry setting up initially and you forget to put one in line.
  13. I'll have to agree with Richard. The glow frog dipsy has always produced fish for us.
  14. Ray, This happened to me too but I noticed it before the speed wheekl fell off. Luckily I got another clip and put it on. The epoxy idea is a good one - just don't go crazy with it Don't know how soon you need it but if you call Fishhawk and talk with Eric or Bill Sherwood (owner) and explain that many of us have experienced that same scenario the might send you the parts for free. Number is 815-363-0929 I like the way fishhawk treats me anyway.... I sent my probe back for repair as it took on water (this was a new probe I bought after dumping mine out at the Niagara Bar) and was all set to pay the $60 price. Much to my surprise it returned with no charge as they said it failed thier tank test. (Must have not been my fault )
  15. Ray, Great report!! I know what you mean about the traffic and intelligence levels. It does get crazy out there. We are headed up for a Thursday - Saturday stint so we are going to get into that mix shortly. Again, thanks for the humor - most of it is true!!
  16. Danno, The fin is calle dthe skeg and according to my mechanic you can take it right off even with the bottom of the housing. Alot of the bass boat guys remove this. I don't know it's function but when I bent mine backing into my driveway (forgot to trim motor up ) he told me that information. However they heated it and staightened it instead of removing it as the bend wasn't that bad. He did also say that in trying to straighten it it might break instead of bend and the he would have just cut it off.
  17. Thanks Richard, It was Team Lucky Enuff's first FHC too and we were pleased with our 7th place finish too. Things are starting to fall into place for us and we hope to get better as time goes on.
  18. Play Penn, There's a bunch of guys from Cortland that fish Oswego and Mexico. Where abouts in Cortland? Don't recognize any of your mugs. Cortland is such a big place
  19. Jim, That would be bizzare if you won back to back LOC's!!!  I want to be on that boat!!!
  20. Hasky, It might produce more replies if you said where you were and what ports you wante to fish from.
  21. IMHO - just make sure it's digital no matter what model you end up buying.
