  1. Here's a description and a link 12" Semi Stiff Curved [40630] $38.95 12 in. plain edged curved Cimeter made of high carbon stainless steel. Black Fibrox handle http://www.captgarys.com/catalog/produc ... 40rmsrang2 We have this knife and it works fantastic on the big boys. You definitely want something samller too for those smaller fish.
  2. A co-worker of mine is looking for a used 5-10hp short shaft 2stroke motor. He wants to put it on his 14' aluminum. Evinrude, Mercury, Johnson he mentioned for brand names.
  3. If you are going the AccuDepth reel route I would recommend the AccuDepth PLUS reels. Have heard they are better quality for a little more money. Soem guys have recommended staying away from the generic AccuDepth reels. Definitely a 47 or 57 series though!!!
  4. Mark, Tell Uncle Bill he still has the "best legs" in the video  Tell him I forgot his name and Jerry kept popping into my head.
  5. I second Rick's comments. The way the whole shidig was put on I was sure this had been going on for years and after talking with Tim Bromund found out this was the innaugural event. HATS OFF and MANY KUDOS to the LOTSA organization and members who were involved. The food was spectacular too and VERY reasonably priced. Thanks guys for not "Raping" us on the food prices so we had more cash to spend on the tables. A great day, great events and great buys. I was thrilled to finally put a face to some of the names from this forum and some others who don't frequent the forum. I met people I never expected to see there too. As usual the faces were totally off base with the mental image I usually get from a name and comments Please don't be offended if I forget someone: Ray K, Yankee Troller (again), Mark - Reel Jerks and Unkel Jerry(?) the guy with the "sexy" legs in most of Marks videos, Alan and Mikell (thanks for the great rod and I think I stole that from you), Jason - nice seeing you again - hope the weather breaks so you can get that floor finished, Kevin Jerge, Eric Marcinkowski (my "other son") - good luck with the new boat, Werner (Popeye), Brian Garrett (Tall Tails), Unkeljim and Reelaxin, Lou - drlfc, Tom Kilmer - TomKatt, and Greg and Doug - PlayPenn. Already looking forward to this event next year!!!
  6. i am going with Fishtails, traveling man and Play Penn and 3 others.
  7. Had mine straightened at Don Cook's in Lansing years ago. Didn't do it myself but it can be done.
  8. I agree with BillyV this time!! I was told fish it the way it came.
  9. Gotaway, Yep we have a group going to Lockport on the 24th, Team Lucky Enuff plus PlayPenn and traveling man and jimmy d plus play penn;s buddy. Maybe we can see ya there. I want to do at least a couple of the seminars.
  10. chinook35, Was at the BPS seminar last Saturday and a guy - Dave Wilson I think was his name - said no Rhys Davis cut bait this year as the didn't harvest any bait for processing. Rhys Davis contracts the processing to another company and since they didn't stockpile any this year it probably won't be until next year at least if we see any RD cutbait.
  11. Wolf, Forgot it was on last Wed. How was the show??
  12. Paul, Will there be changes or are they standing pretty "Pat" from last year?? Thanks,
  13. Play Penn, I think the cost of the cable at Screwy Louies was $30-$40
  14. Where is it from - Wally World??
  15. Wolf, Explain which one is your buddy!! Clarke
  16. Rodney, Just call in sick!!!! Hey, if he shows and you go take your video camera. I did that for one of TOny Buffa's seminars at BPS and it is great to be able to go back and review and/or take notes. A permanent record.
  17. Steve - have you heard anything about what the new fishhawk is all about?? How much change, etc.? If you want to call fishhawk directly their # is 815-363-0929 They are in the Chicago area so they are 1 hour behind our time.
  18. lavarock64, We run the 9½' Daiwa Heartland rods with twilitip for a couple of our dipsy rods and love them. Many guys have gone to the shorter 7' rods for their wire. The reels are your choice but I would stay away from the AD reels if you can swing the SG47LC's. IMHO a much better reel. Most guys will tell you if you don't run white in the morning, run white. Then green if you don't have green, run green. Basic philosophy. You may run something purple and kill them and that will wind up being your "go to" and have all the confidence in the world in using it while everyone else is banging them on green and white. That said I wouldn't go out without putting white or green out every trip. Don't forget SPEED!!!!!!
  19. Welcome Misty IV, I remember your GLA board name and your many posts there. I am part of a team called Lucky Enuff and our Captain resides about 1 hour north of you in ?Quakertown. We started fishing together last season as a team and did a couple events and as we saw it didn't do to shabily considering a new boat, new team, etc. Hope to meet you someday. Do you fish the spring kings at the Niagar Bar?? Again warm welcome!!
  20. Jasper, The west end normally has more fishable days than especially the east end and maybe Sodus (not real sure about that one). But when the west winds blow it has got to be pretty bad to get a blow off day at the bar.
  21. I heard about and am planning on going to the Bass Pro Seminar this Saturday 01/19/08 at 11 a.m. in Auburn. I heard it's going to be about Early Spring Brown fishing. Anoyone else heard about it or going??
