  1. I was hopeing that Spoonfed saw this. He has a AP12 and I have been on his boat in 7 footers. The auto pilot has no trouble at all keeping up. He uses a 15 horse honda kicker.
  2. TeamHelgoya - if you want to get 20 feet down buy a size #1 dipsey and take off the outside ring that comes with it. Run 30# test mono. Put the dipsey on the #3 setting and let it out 60 feet. you wil be down 20 feet.
  3. i keep my drag so there is no creeping but still loose. i don't like a drag to creep, it drives me nuts. the only time i hear a drag is when there is a fish on. i do not adjust my drags when there is a fish on, i use my thumb to pump the fish in.
  4. jeff, that was a great video!!!
  5. glen, ya i'll be at the bar if you have a spot open for me.
  6. thanks guys, i have been looking for 2 years. so far it has been a great fishing boat. I need to upgrade the fishfinder and add a full size GPS this winter and i will be all set... well then upgrade the mag 10's then... B.O.A.T.
  7. I found this boat dry docked on Cayuga Lake. Got a great deal on it. It had 40 hours on it which i thought was great but come to find out that was battery hours not engine hours. It had about 20 engine hours. It came with electric trim tabs and control box, sport pilot plus auto pilot, perko battery selector, electric wench, custom soft top and tannow cover, fishfinder, vhf radio, porta potty, dual wipers. i added my riggers, rod holders and my subtroll. I've never seem a starcraft with a volvo but i must say i like the volvo. The guy that had it before me took great care of the boat.
  8. I am also a Giants fan but have a lot of freinds and relatives that are Bills fans. If this was the 2007 Bills they would be 1-2. They have found a way to win a couple of close games. They are young and their future should be good if they can keep their young players for 3 or 4 more years.
  9. a friend of mine was up the also. He had the same report as above. 0/0.
  10. hey jeff, welcome to the site. I live in Cortland. There are quite a few guys from this area on the board. enjoy your new boat.
  11. if you are going to weigh a fish don't take it out of the cooler until you are right next to the scale. 2 fluid ounces of water is 1/8 of a pound or 2oz by weight. If you take your fish out of the cooler then walk 50 feet and place it on a scale you have lost a lot of water weight.
  12. i have cannon mag 10a's. if i was to do it over i would buy scottys.
  13. usually any auto detailer will also do boats.
  14. top of the fly to the top of the loop.
  15. forest fisheries has no islanders. he told me they were to expensive to carry them. if someone wants one he can order it.
  16. silver lightening black, metalic purple and clear. i have been playing with frog and watermellon too and they have their days.
  17. i have owned a sub troll since 1995 and it works good. If i were to buy something new it would be a depth raider.
  18. Dave, i think putting the date caught is a good addition.
  19. We talked to Dave about this at the spring derby. you can pass the rod off. The person that lands the fish weighs the fish. We had 2 derby fish landed by the same person (spoonfed). Dave thanked us for our honest and said he should have hand the rod off. Then he made a joke about the net person is really the person that "lands" the fish.
  20. if the spoon comes with a split ring i use it. if it comes without one i run it that way.
  21. after fishing today, i would start about a mile and a half south of the power plant in 100 -130 fow. wire out 250 - 280 on a 2 setting and riggers down 30 -60-90. sliders will increase your catch too. trash can dodgers and green fly, silver dodger with green fly or LBB fly. Today was an early bite.
  22. rustyrat is on the money. I'm fishing that area tomorrow(wednesday) i'll give you an update. With all the fronts that have been coming through the fishing has been hot and cold.
