  1. I've used both the cannon and scotty manuals and they are both good.
  2. Congrats Glen (Spoonfed) on your pro am win!!! You have put in a lot of hard work and it is paying off.
  3. This time of the year I like 8-20 feet of waterand out to 30 feet as the sun gets higher. 15 feet down caught our fish on saturday and a silver and black spoon was best. As far as speed i usually run 2.3 - 2.7 on my gps. It seems like ford shoals always has browns around it this time of year. i hoped this helps
  4. launched out of wrights landing at 5:30 to a nice 2ft chop. I had a plan to fish browns for the first 3 hours then slide out and search for kings. The weather man said 2 ft waves dropping tp 1 ft or less. boy was he wrong. headed to ford shoals for browns and did 2 and a smallmouth on my first pass. trolled back east and the wind was picking up. we pulled the otter boats because you could not keep and speed control with them. headed back wast and the waves were 3-5ft. speed control was very bad and headed for the harbor to try around there. nothing. all 3 fish came on a michigan stinger black and silver 15ft down. water temp was 52
  5. my fishing partner was on the lake saturday. he did very good on lakers at long point. he was fishing from the point to a mile north of it. 100 - 120fow, down 90ft. when the sun got high he worked out to 300 and caught a 11lb laker on a wire rod out 325. he was fishing solo and said he stayed busy until he left at 1;00.
  6. Andy and Elliot, Congrats on your great catches. It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. We put the boat in at Long Point, ran down to AES. It was slow there so we headed about 13 miles north into those waves. Nothing up north. We final found fish from a mile north of Long Point right to the Point. We had a lot of 7 - 8lb fish and one that bounce the scale between 8lb 8 oz and 9lb 1oz at 3:15. We didn't weigh it in.
  7. just tie on about 100 - 150ft of 8 or 10#test on your flea flicker line and you are all set.
  8. and a 20# spring salmon. You didn't tell me it was your birthday!
  9. my take on the small browns is the salmon fishing sucked last year. a lot of people targeted and kept a lot of browns.
  10. did you check your spark plugs? what do the they look like?
  11. i fished sunday and it was very slow towards the southend. 2 weeks ago i was perch fishing around union springs and i marked a ton of bait up there. You might want to try from the silos north. i believe you fished that area couple of years ago and did pretty good.
  12. I ordered a cannon replacement power cable from them last week and had it in 2 days. but the spoons i ordered took about a week because they were shipped directly from Michigan Stinger.
  13. I trailer my boat up and down rt 81 with the top up and the tonneau cover on. I have not had a problem with it yet.
  14. lavrock, they are all jerks, they don't have a clue when it comes to common sense. All you can do is run from the sailfish trainees. Now the big blow boats... you know where they are moored...
  15. Hank, I need the 2" soup spoons. (Silver) Rainbows love them.
  16. I don't think they are made any more. But if you find them let me know, i have 2 left.
  17. Billy, Nice to see you got your boat wet. I've been wanting to try the super slims. can you give me your top 5. do they come with the red trebles? If so do you change them for salmon.
  18. Thats not a good way to end your day! Its a good thing you went to Owasco and not Ontario.
