  1. The meeting was tonight. I was there. It was a full house. Sounds like it is going to be a struggle to keep these things away. Thank you to Bruce for showing up and speaking for the Charter Capts. Association. I hope we never see those things out there.
  2. we did land both of them. one prob about 18 the other about twenty. took some pictures and back they went. couldnt ask for a better sunday of fishin. hope to trailer the boat up a few more times in the next month to keep on that action.
  3. my buddy cheers was on our boat yesterday when we passed you guys. we were fighting a double. he was trying to get your attention, dont know if you saw us. yesterday was hot for us as well. the day started out with all six rods we had in the water fired, never had a chance to reset. Actually got to see how far away a fish is when it hits a 500 copper, and it is much farther than I bet most people would think. The boat that was turning in behind me could have netted our fish as it was about five feet away from their bow.
  4. That was my fish Jeremy! I should have just held on to that rod and never let go! I am just kidding. It was funny how it hit that diver rod at 3.1. Who would have thought it. Now aren't you glad you decided to make the trip up with us.
  5. That is a great spring fish that you guys got. I was the captain of the boat that landed that 27lb laker Friday morning. We thought the fish was a king by the way she was taking line and fighting. After about 10 minutes of fighting the fish she is about 50 feet behind the boat and my stomach dropped. It was the biggest laker I have ever seen in my life. When we all saw the fish we were in udder amazement. She made it to the net and all we could do was laugh our asses off, and high fives all over the place. It was huge. We weighed it on our boga between 26-28lbs so we decided to run in. Official weight was 27lbs even. It may be a laker but it is for sure a trophy fish in my eyes.
  6. 110 views and no takers, how bout 30 bucks for the pair
  7. One pair of dual ski planer boards. These were originally single ski boards and had a second ski added to them. Used them for 4 seasons and they work great. Getting rid of them to save some space and bought cannon collapsables. $40.
  8. Thanks for the heads up, just got back from buying mine. 7olb thrust bow mount for 250 bucks. after going online to minnkotas site I found out there is also a 70 dollar rebate for the model I bought. Thanks again.
  9. I dont know how I missed both of you down there today. I saw the van up top when I left. Glad to hear you guys got into a couple also. It was fairly slow but we managed a few.
  10. It was rough walking back up today. glad you made a trail yesterday before we got down there today. nice fish by the way.
  11. Will definitely venture to the bar early spring for the derby, it is kinda tradition now. I was thinking somewhere a little more east than the bar for a season long spot. I am tired of having to travel 10-12 miles straight out of port to get to 250 ft like out of Rochester. From what I have heard you can cover much more water in depth faster, meaning go from 100-250 in a matter of minutes. Where I am located now if you start in a hundred and work your way out it can take an up to an hour to get over 200. I know at the bar you can go from 65-250 by the time you setup. In those summer months when you set up in 100 and the fish travel to over to 250 it means picking up, motor out, and resetting everything. Kinda tough to do when you only have two people on board or when it is rough out. If you could troll out there without wasting a third of your day it would be nice. That is what I am hoping to accomplish moving further out west.
  12. This is a great topic of discussion seeing as I am about to move my boat further west this year. I fish out of I Bay and Rochester and have been fairly dissapointed with the past three seasons. 2006 was the best season for me, it was almost easy to catch big kings. It must be just me. I have traveled to the west end in the spring (niagara) and had great success, and traveled to the east end in the fall (oswego) with great success. Is it just that much easier in those months to catch em...?
  13. Also if you discover any broken or worn internal parts you may be able to order them from this site. www.mikesreelrepair.com. When taking apart one of my accudepth plus 47lc's I discovered the clicker would no longer engage. I went to the site I listed and looked up the part # on the reel schematic page. Type in the part # under search and it came right up. .72 cents for the clicker pawl. I also ordered a couple other parts at a decent price. Hope this helps if anyone is a do it yourselfer.
  14. Thanks guys. I didn't see a place to order grease or anything from the shimano website so I am gonna call them direct. Thought I would also order a couple sets of drag washers in case they are needed. Figure if nothing else my wire rods could use a new set. I do have one reel all apart and everything looks good to me but the drag washer stack is completely dry. There is still some friction material left on them so I figure a light coat of grease and I should be fine.
  15. I have done this in the past with other reels but the tekotas were a little intimidating. I am gonna do it but I have a question. What did you use for grease on the drag washers themselves. Is there a place you can recomend that I can purchase it.
  16. I recently had a similar virus. To save you some time I will tell you I ended up formatting my hard drive and reinstalling windows xp. I will tell you as far as I got and if you feel like putting in more time than I did you may be able to figure out the rest of the steps in cleaning your p.c. rather than wipe it all out. Pop-ups for Windows System Defender kept popping up. The task manager was disabled, auto updates for my virus software were disabled and many other programs were infected. I was able to clean out the majority of the virus but still had some strange things happen when using IE. Since my task manager was disabled I downloaded a program that was an alternative to the windows task manager. Sorry I forget the name of it. It acted just like the task manager and told me all my running processes. I did some research on this fake antivirus program. Searched "windows system defender removal guide" In this guide it told me the name of all the files I had to kill in order to get rid of this virus. After using the alternative task manager program I was able to disable the running process called wsd. After disabling the process the popup windows stopped appearing. I was now able to locate where the virus stemmed from on my hard drive. I then disabled the .dll files stored in that folder. I was then able to update my virus software and access my task manager, but still had some strange issues. Every time I would run a scan on my p.c. it would keep finding a new virus. After the first scan the virus would be 1a. After cleaning that virus and running a new scan it would then find a virus called 1b and so on. Ever time I searched something on Yahoo or Google it would then direct me to some strange site that had nothing to do with my original search. This is where I gave up and just formatted my drive with a fresh install. I should have just done this right from the get go. On the other hand I did have a friend who recently had something very similar happen to their p.c. and symantec was able to clean the p.c. out. Just because the symtoms were the same the actual infection could be totally different. It took me five days of trial and error to get as far as I did. Hope this helps.
