    My advice is look at getting a rental near Pultneyville. Target Browns and you should do well. This should be good action and the wife will enjoy it.

    Ontario Canada has a possession law. I don't believe NY does. In NY you can go catch your daily limit everyday for a month and fill your freezer.

    Fished Oneida at Lewis point from 630 am til 1130am. Ice was all of 12". Fished in 21 fow. Caught 22 walleye of which four were keepers and some we're as small as 8-10". Through everything at them hoping for some bigger fish. Johnson rattle spoon in gold took the most. If you venture out you will want a set of creepers.

    The South shore is not producing bigger eyes. To each their own about keeping the money in NY. You guys don't ever leave the state on vacation?

    The reason I would go wouldn't be about saving money or filling my freezer. It would just be fun with a small group of friends to get away, enjoy some shore lunches, have a beverage around a fire. Share stories, exchange good laughs all the while playing in mother nature's band

    I'd say it's the experience and quite honestly there is nowhere in NY that you can put up the kinda numbers you can put up in some of those lakes.

    I've honestly crossed to fish probably 100+ times in the last 7 years and never had one problem. Twice I had a vehicle search that lasted maybe 15 minutes. Luck of the draw I suppose

    Take a look at the Abu Garcia Altum trolling series. Great rods for planer board fishing. They also have great linecounter reels depending on exactly what you're looking for.
