Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8/4 Time on Water: 5:30 Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: ? Total Boated:? Species Breakdown:Kings, brown and lakers Hot Lure: Hammertime Spin Doctor and Green hammer fly Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2.4 Boat Depth: 90 - 160 Lure Depth: 60 - 80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Started the am inside and the screen looked good until the sun poked over the horizon. Slide out to 160 and did some teen kings. After getting some intel, I slid back in to 90 - 110. After a short troll, the 180 wire on a 1 setting starts throbbing. After a 50' run, the fish just dogged all the way to the boat. When it broke the surface, we knew it was a derby king. Canuck33 slid the net under the current Orleans derby leading king @ 30.13lb. Shortly afer rerigging, we did another major and a small brown. After a couple more good rips, and drops, we headed to the laker spot and did a mess of lakers but LOTS of 3 to 6lb lakers. We only had one decent laker at 12lbs. The guys in 400 FOW were lighting up the kings. Hopefully the weather cooperates so we can get out there this week and next weekend.

Sandy Creek 8/2
GAMBLER replied to Lund SSS's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Glad to hear you got into fish Steve. Keep up the good work. -
+2 Smaller probe (less blow back), NO coated cable (an added expense if it gets damaged), great battery life, no antenna's to replace with an upgrade because it only works with a wet papper towel on it and it can be used on ANY rigger on the boat.

Like I said at the Shootout, Real men wear trebles. I think you should have kept it there. How did the fiance react when you got home?

Here you go Mark. It looks like a 28.14 took it. viewtopic.php?f=52&t=34201 -
Find where thermalcline intersects the bottom near structure and fish smaller spoons along the bottom. If you see marks up off the bottom in that zone, a lot of times they are browns also. A lot of the time, the low 60's is the perfered temp. Good luck!

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Escape ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7/28/12 Time on Water:5am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 3-5 with the occasional 8 foot roller! Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: ? Total Boated:20+ Species Breakdown:Kings and steelhead Hot Lure: Hammer Time Spin Doctor and Green Hammer Fly and the Live Wire Spin Doctor with the green crinkle Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: 130 - 400 Lure Depth: 70 - 85 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Started the morning motoring out to 130 in 2 - 3 foot waves. Worked the inside waters and had one upper teens king, one GIANT lamprey on cutbait (yes the lamprey took the cutbait!) and a TON of skippers to show for it. Worked our way out to the 330 - 375 are and started to get into some nice kings and steelhead. Put together a nice box consisting of a 19,20,23 and a 23lb king. 90% of our hits today came on flashers and flies on the wires, copper and riggers. I was running 6 flashers and flies on 4 wires, 1 copper and 1 rigger with 2 riggers cheated with spoons. The only fish we took on spoons were skippers, small bows and smaller kings. At the weigh in, our box was good enough for 4th place. Congrats to all the winners and I tip my hat to the guys that worked HARD to make this event another success.
