  1. 1.Live Wire 2.Hammer time 3.White crush 4. Diehard Those are my 4 favorite in that order.
  2. Nice job Nick. I never realized there were that any pickerel in Lake Ontario. Keep at them, you will find a slob pike.
  3. I replace them every season if they get like that. As long as there are no frays, it should be fine. I just don't want to risk losing the monster during derby time.
  4. It was 50 degrees last week. Don't know how much it has changed.
  5. Or get the spot light out!
  6. Stan, McDonalds and Tasting are really different. Jeremy cooks and Tom runs the fryer. Jeremy does not have to wear a head set.
  7. Shakesam, The big perch were a first light bite and then done. Had to weed through dinks to get the rest. Talked with a guy at the launch that said 25 FOW South of the bridge was good for him. Where South of the bridge, I have no idea. It did look like there were some boats just South of the bridge opposite the Newport house. Good luck.
  8. I have had opposite luck with both companies. I have a Raymarine Sport Pilot Plus and had problems with it right from the start. I called Raymarine and the tech. department made me jump through hoops before allowing me to send my unit back. They kept telling me it was installed wrong. It was back for repairs 3 times before they got it to work correctly. In the end, some part was not lubricated in the factory. The first 2 seasons, I did not have my auto pilot and was not reimbursed for it (3 year warranty and I only got to use it for 1 of the 3 years I paid for it). It has worked great since. I hope nothing goes wrong with it because they no longer repair them or have parts for them . As for Lowrance, I have owned their products for years and they have been Awesome.
  9. If you are talking about the wheel at the end of the boom, there are small screws you can back out and open it up. Once you get it opened up, run the cable and close it back up.
  10. Fished for perch at the channel markers on Thursday with dad. Ended up taking home 64 perch from 10 - 13"and one 12" crappie. Minnows fished on the bottom seemed best. Fishing was a lot slower than the past couple of years. The size was there but the numbers seemed down to me. The docks were still in but not much longer.
  11. The water is really low. You have to back off the end of the concrete ramp to get most boats off trailers. Waders would be a big plus. There is a little sand bar 15' out at the end of the ramp. Keep the motor trimmed up. I wated a guy leave the motor down and hit bottom last week.
  12. Smaller fish, less of them, and less contaminants to go into the river? Your guess is as good as mine.
  13. Actually Tim, returning them to the river to die feeds the organisms at the lower end of the food chain.
  14. Not bad for a fry cook Tom. Did you wife hang those up there for you!
  15. Too bad they are out of season. Lakers are closed from October 1st - January 1st.
  16. To keep snaggers off the creeks at night? Has been around for a long time. The fish need some kind of break from getting mauled all day long.
  17. Rod, First check for an area that could be sucking air. I had a loose fitting and it had the same symptoms. Sometimes the fuel lines harden with age and can start to suck air over time at fittings.
  18. I just use old towles or a sheet. I hang them on a rope in the garage all winter.
  19. Were you in the red and white crestliner? My father talked to a group of 3 guys before I arrived at the launch. Slow day of us. 8 hours of casting and 1 follow and one hit. Trired smallies and they were not cooperating. Marked lots of bait all over the lake.
  20. Kopperklad, There is another little parcel of stateland down the road from where I used to hunt on Bear hill in Rushville. Nice little spot with very little pressure. Saw a lot of nice deer taken out of there over the years.
  21. Anyone here if the DEC got the quota for next years stockings?
  22. SG, I got my icefishing stuff out 3 weeks ago. I'm chomping at the bit.
  23. Bob, I run 2 26" bags and they get me down to laker speed easy. I have a 22' Starcraft (Fiberglass).
