  1. Will the winner be a Lake trout this spring? With ice still flushing down the Niagara, not much King action on the West end in Canadian waters, I'm betting on a laker as top prize. We will see.
  2. Sounds like you could use the knot you use on Leadcore core with it. That would be cool for joining mono and Power Pro.
  3. I think it was either a large increase in price or a HUGE cut in stocking / programs. It amazes me that guys spend thousands on fishing gear and b*tch about $30.00????? I don;t mind paying more for my license. I look at it this way, 1) I get my money back in the number of trips, 2) Where can you expierence the fishing that we have here in NYS for $30.00? Break down the number of times you fish a season and compare it to gas, boat payment, slip fees, lunch for the day and tackle. License fees are the cheapest per trip out of all listed above.
  4. Don't think of it that way. Think of it as a new beginning. Find some other guys to fill their shoes. There are plenty of good guys o this site that are willing to fish with others.
  5. Everything looks good there. Must be something under the dash?????
  6. Is the cable routed the same way it was before? If it is on the wrong side of the motor, it will be backwards. Take a pic of the cable where it goes into the outboard.
  7. Fish, I did mine myself. Call local marinas. Some of them bottom paint. I sent you a PM back. I did not get your first one.
  8. I found it was not much more expensive to buy 2 separate units. This way, if your 1 transducer craps out, you can still use the other one. I have 2 200/50 tranducers. Set one on 50 and one on 200. I tilt one transducer back so I can see the rigger balls and put my lures right above the marks. Takes the guess work out of it.
  9. Troll inside the bay. It can be really good for browns in the bay. You will get the occasional steelie also. You can always find protected water somewhere in the bay.
  10. I saw a large 8 point off of I bay one summer in 30 fow. When we went by it on plain, I thought I was seeing things. We positioned the boat in front of it and turned it around. It swam back to the beach at Durand and layed down on the beach when it made it to shore.
  11. Not a pickerel. Juvenile pike.
  12. Bruce, Cabelas used to make a Real Image stick bait that looked just like a gobie. It even has the head shape of a gobie. My box of them is still on the boat. When I get it out of storage I will post some pictures. They ad really good action. I do not believe they make them in that color anymore.
  13. Nice job. I would not be suprised if the Atlantic state record falls this summer.
  14. Looks great Rick. Glad to see you went back to real downriggers.
  15. Nice Job Rick. A 16.11 brown. Whats next, a 40lb. king?
  16. I think he needs to ask himself if he is running a marina or a fish hatchery?
  17. Ras Outboard on Rt 104 in Spencerport is the only one I know of. Not too close for you but they do great work.
  18. Nice job and thanks for the invite .
  19. Rochester has some of the best spring brown fishing on the entire lake. The Geneswer River pumps muddy water out into the lake keeping the clear water murky. Look for temp breaks and gravel bottom. With the gobies taking over the lake, browns are keyed in on gobies. Some browns are still found in clearer water on rock bottom because of the gobies. I would head to the Genesee River boat launch and head the way the river plume is heading. From Sandy Creek to Gina is good.
  20. I have a 60 psi and love it. Make sure you put a ball valve at the hull in case something goes wrong. This can also double as an extra bilge pump if needed. You can close the ball valve, taker the hose off and use the washdown to pump more water out.
  21. Just use super glue and not heat shrink. Works better. If youi still want to use the shrink tube, use a warm light bulb.
  22. I use the scotty large plainer releases. Instead of buying them in singles, I buy the double stacker releases and cut them off the heavy mono. All you have to do is add a shower curtain hook. It is a lot cheaper.
  23. Happy Birthday Tom. Hope it was a good one.
