I run a chute rod on every trip. Does it get it the way? Yes, but it catches fish. We tend to reel it in if we get a good king on to avoid the threat of tangles. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

It has been a while since I have put a fishing report on LOU! Saturday May 16 Left the dock in full search mode of a King bite, made a hard left turn leaving Bald Eagle (my summer home), and trolled west towards the Oak. Set down in 30' and never went past out 90'. Found a mix of fish 50-80 fow but 60 fow ended up being the magic spot for silvers. Great mix of Kings and Lakers with a few Coho mixed in. Easily the best day we have had with salmon numbers yet in 2020. The program 3 riggers (22', 33' 44') 2 divers (44', 55') 2 100' coppers 2 150' coppers As for spoon color there was really no hero. black/silver to mixed veggie they all took fish. Sunday May 17 Left the dock with the same plan in place but was rudely greeted with an East wind. Looked at lot more water today but in hindsight the Kings we caught were in 55-65 fow like yesterday. We had a third or a quarter of the total bites we had the day before as Saturday's bite really spoiled us. Sunday's program was the same as the day before but we fished it a bit deeper on the riggers and divers. The program 3 riggers (29', 39' 49-59') 2 divers (66', 77') 2 100' coppers 2 150' coppers 200' copper (chute)

Fishing Charter Industry- Phase 1 Reopening NYS
Legacy replied to Legacy's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Love NYS. Broken links have been updated. -
Today is the day some in our industry get to return to work as NY regional openings begin. It has been known that as all businesses return to work we must implement new pandemic procedures and protocols in order to move forward. NYS has put a lot of information up on the NYS website regarding all of this and it is imperative that we all do a solid job to represent our industry in a positive way. Guidelines are one thing but NYS demands proper documentation also. Cleaning protocols are something that we should be very familiar with just due to the very nature of our business. However the documentation demands are something that is new to our industry and in the eyes of the state it is a big one. Please read all of the information on the links below. If anyone has questions and needs advice about these guidelines or how to implement these procedures and protocols please don't hesitate to reach out. Surprisingly I am not a big fan of ceviche... I'm looking at this from a nigiri prospective. I like rolls and sashimi but prefer nigiri. And Im 100% raising the question about this for raw fish consumption. My prime suspects would be Coho and 2 year old Kings. We can assume we already know the answers for smoked and cooked salmon.

Simply not true guys. You can eat freshwater fish for sushi but there is a concern for excessive pollution in freshwater. Parasites exist in both fresh and salt water. Just an FYI, ALL fish prepared for sushi should be frozen to destroy parasites. Hepatitis? Really? How about some sushi lovers chime in?

Depends on the bite. Sometimes its Chinook divers and other times its a standard diver with a mag ring (my normal diver setup).
