  8. Give Tim a call at Krenzers marine in Sodus Pt. He has a lot of boats for sale and the service is second to none. 315 747 9942 I am sure after this coming sunday there will be more Fish reports! Keep an eye on the new tweets section that is going to start tomorrow on here as there will probably be some reports taking place...
  9. Listing for a friend- 2 47 LC Diawa's for sale. Clickers work, drags work. 40.00 each plus shipping Or Best Offer! PM me for details Brian
  10. Bill, I wasnt trying to slam Diawa, just will be waiting with baited breath to see them stand up to a Wire fish in May and an inexperienced charter customer. I will bet you dinner the reel will bind with the fast gear ratio and wire. (I want you to be honest with me.)Everybody is excited about the new gear ratios my concern is will there be the stopping power of a high gear ratio reel. My bet will be not enough when it comes to wire setups. Now I am being specific because I think the problem will arise on the wire. Riggers- I think they will work out just fine with mono. I know they work great with cores but again there is a lot of forgiveness in core and copper setups. I was just saying guys should talk to the people who repair all types of reels on a daily basis. From what I am hearing Diawa still has a way to go to equal Shimano. I was trying to avoid saying that earlier. And hey I was in the market for new Diver reels and I looked at all of the manufacturers and was turned off the Diawa by the guys in the business who repair them. See you at the dock this weekend!
  11. Give Chris a call at St. Peters Outfitters in Oswego. He fixes reels on a daily basis and will give you the scoop. He sells all companys so there is no bias but interesting what he has to say about each manufacturer and the way things are built. His top sellers are Shimano and Okuma. I myself have switched to Shimano diver reels, they are absolutly the best drag system on the market without putting the compettion drags in, but if you spend the 35 bucks on the competion drags you will have the best dipsy diver reel on the planet!! And I am an big okuma fan!!! I will still run Okumas everywhere else on the boat except big coppers. I have upgraded all my 45 and 55 okuma reels to 6.1/1 ratios and all new okuma tourney drags!!! I am working on getting a very large levelwind okuma reel upgraded to a larger gear ratio. You can spool 600ft of copper on these badboys with room to spare For the money in a side by side comparison it is Shimano all over the Diawa, but now we have the old Chevy Ford discussion to each his own.
  12. Plane Jane White glo
  13. Ok Rick its your turn! Rally the troops in Monroe County!! Yes you are correct Niagara county has shown interest in the turbines......
  14. Okuma now has 6.2:1 gear ratios in the Clarion line which is 25 to 65 dollars cheaper then the Diawa's. They can also upgrade now any 45 to 55 you own to the same gear ratio. If you dont like the drags you can have the tourney drags installed. I just sent out my own 45's and 55's to have the ratios changed and drags put in for less 60.00 bucks each and that includes shipping both ways. You can purchase a new 45 for 69.00 and have 60 dollars worth of upgrades and still be cheaper then a new Diawa. Okuma has responded to the market in a big way!!!! Wont be long now!!!!!!

  18. I have 2 Borg Warner transmissions sitting in my garage, that wont ever fit on my new ride. One is counter rotating and the other is standard rotation. They are 1.87/1 gear ratios and will bolt up nicely to Ford 302's and 350's from what I am told. I had them on a pair of 302's. These trannys worked just fine when they were in the boat. I had some engine work done and had found newer trannys so I bolted them on. Borg Warner trannys are the standards the other manufacturers live by! Far and away one of the best transmissions you could own. I just want them gone so the first 400.00 or B.O. takes them. Pickup only or I could meet someone as I am back and forth from Sodus to Olcott for the next 2 months or so. These are worth well over 1000.00 a piece rebuilt.

Good Luck and safe travels! Glad you found a Baha you were looking for, they are tanks. Brian
