  1. Thanks for all the responses but we are all set now!! See everyone there!!
  2. I am with Glen on this the proven teams are as follows Captain Rigger Driver in some cases also the Captain but not always. 2 rod man whos only job is to get the rods when they go off and put the fish in the boat-Period!! People that fish with me on my teams know there job when they step on the boat. I believe wholeheartedly that more then 1 person in MOST INSTANCES deciding what goes in the water is a major hindrance to the boats program. As we know ALL boats fish totally different. What works on my boat will in most cases not work on your boat..... I have proved this theory many times over!! Case in Point and I hope I dont give to much away Glen! LOL! Last year in Sodus when Glen wasnt sinking he was catching fish on the Fast side say 2.8 to 3.0 and he let me know of this as we work together. I dont typically catch fish at fast speeds, Glen finished his limit and I slide into his area when he was done and gave the fish my program at 1.8 and finished my box in an hour!!! What I am getting at is to many cooks in the kitchen will keep you out of the money almost everytime. Nothing wrong with team meetings and lord knows the Princess (my driver) and I have a few of those on occasion.....But in the end its the Captains final choice! And yes second place is just the first loser!!! Thats why the pro ams are not for everyone and thats ok!!
  3. Team Tall Tails is in need of an Observer for the Wayne County Pro-Am. We are a pro division boat. I can not provide lodging but I will pay 100.00 per tourney day. There is a Capt meeting on friday that you will need to attend as well. Please email at [email protected] or send me a PM. Thanks Brian
  4. I personally didnt like the boat entry and that is the main reason I wasnt participating. I couldnt go to my friends boat and fish with them during that time frame because I have my capts lic. I also wasnt goin to pay 575.00 to win 575.00. I would pay 80.00 or even a 100.00 to win 500.00. I would even pay 100.00 to win 250.00 but not even money.... Make it a personal entry not a boat entry and I am in for sure!!!!!! Thanks again for all your hard work in the LOC Dave as it is the best DERBY on the Lake!!!!!!!!!!
  5. SOLD! Thanks for the interest!

  7. What is the Latest News?? I havent heard much recently... I did however have a "GOOD" Friend of One of our Female Senators on a charter a few weeks ago and as he was watching the Sunrise from the east as we ran down the lake from Olcott. I asked him how he would feel about watching that same sunset with turbines in the middle of them... He was not pleased at all and asked what he could do about it. I asked him to talk to anyone who would listen. He was going to make a Phone call to some "people" he knew politically to discuss it. I think anything helps at this point in the game. Brian

  11. And they brought back a an old standby color!!!! CANT WAIT!!!!!!!
  12. Harbor resort in Olcott is open. You can launch in a minute from there. Bathrooms are clean and large. We stay there for the month of May with our 5th wheel.
  13. If it were me and I was shore fishing the hotel side of the Oswego should still be holding fish.....
  14. Left actually about 12 miles to the left. It is 4 mile east of the niagara river. I would imagine with the HEAVY norhwest wind we are going to recieve the next 2 days the fish maybe spread out to Wilson or beyond!
  15. Lets see the pic!! I was in Olcott all weekend and didnt hear anything about it.....
  16. From what I heard this weekend in Mexico Bay the south wind Friday night took all the color away. I had heard they smoked them friday, and it was everyyhing they could do to generate a bite on Saturday. With the lake blowing northwest this week hopefully it will set back up again with some color. In that case where the water is clear dont hesitate to move out to some depper water maybe 30 to 40 and put your rigs on the bottom. A lot of times BT's will slide out a bit when the shore water is Gin Clear. Brian
  17. I had Roy in the boat as well!! LMAO!! Pete if the "Princess" is Happy Everybody on Board is Happy!!!! She was excited to catch all the fish on Saturday!!
  18. Seriously you Red dock guys gotta put a am team together for the Pro-Am! I have no doubt you could get Crown Royal or Labatts to sponsor you!!!! Heck you could save your emptys up from the month of may and the deposit money would more than cover you expenses The Red Dock Rockers!!! HHMMM that may sound more like a Rock band than a fishing team! Your reputation precedies you guys!!
  19. That sucks!!!
  20. Well we ran the boat down on Friday morning, it ran fantastic. We got into Olcott went and had some lunch, then we went out with Dave B and the always charming Andrea!! Dave and I needed to work the bugs out and stop feeling like we had 2 left hands in the back of the boat! Sorry no pics of the first trip. We ended up running to 4 mile and getting set up. The 3rd rod down went off and it was the first king of the year!!! Feeling like we were getting it together we finished setting up and we took 2 more kings in an hour and a half. We dropped one on the copper all the rest came on the riggers. All spoons, the fish didnt hit same thing twice. Saturday morning- We rolled out of the Marina in the new Tall Tails boats first spring trip of 2010. Again feeling good about the previous evenings trip we ran to 4 mile and set up. The East wind was coming and we knew it would change things, and it did!! It took us an hour to get our first bite. It was a Coho, then we took a few lakers. We changed the program up a bit and took the attractors out of the water, no sooner did I do that the kings started coming!! This was our first clipped king of the year! Notice no adipose fin. He came 55 down over 65 on a Warrior Carmel dolphin. Got set back up and we doubled on 300 coppers king on one side laker on the other. We dropped the king The water was changing fast with East wind as it always does. The fish were on there way back to Canada. We trolled a bit more caught some more lakers and coho's then we took this guy. An 18pd King. All our bites were 55 and 60 down over 75 to 85 ft of water. All Warrior mag spoons. Huge Bait in the stomachs of the Coho's and NOTHING in the kings at all. Gonna be a MAG spoon kinda year!!!!!!!! It was getting snotty and we had a 14 mile run home so we left and went and got lunch. It was nice to work the bugs out and put some kings in the boat! We will be there for 10 days starting Sat for the LOC, Pay Every Day Derby and the Scotty if you are in Olcott stop over and say hello!!
  21. Shade, How was your trip? I came down friday, it was a little lumpy when I pulled out of Sodus the first 25 miles was a little bumpy but all in all a great trip. I got some great fuel numbers on my boat. I burned 70 gallons in 76 miles or 20 gallons an hour with both engines at 3350. That works out to 10 gallons an hour per motor at 24 miles an hour. Not bad for a pair of Holly Carb 305 Volvo's. I was very impressed at the lack of Debris!! I passed maybe 3 things that could hurt a boat. The best was a 55 gallon drum floating just under the surface! It made a nice bird perch! I would say there is hardly anything out there right now!!! Brian
  22. Nice fish! Who the heck showed you how to hold them for a picture!
  23. I dont know the numbers off the top of my head. I have a map on my GPS and my Olcott way point preset. Sorry!
  24. I am doing the same trip tomorrow. I have done this a lot. You should expect a gallon a mile or so just keep your engines cruising so your 4 barrels are not open. At 3000 rpm you should be fine. It is a 73 mile trip give or take. So about 73 gallons of fuel. This is a great oportunity for you to figure out your fuel burn. Start full and record your hour meter. Then fill when you arrive. Most of all just relax and enjoy the Lake and how big it is. Boats are made to run you will be impressed by the time you arrive. I will run my twin 305's at 3300 or 24-26 nmph, you will pickup speed as you burn off fuel. It is 73 miles if you follow your GPS, if you follow the shoreline it will be much longer as you will want to cut off Rochester and run straight. It is also a good idea to leave a float plan with somebody, time you leave, and an ETA once you get up and running. It will take me about 3.5 hrs dock to dock. I like it better from Sodus then when I leave from Mexico Pt at 123 mile run! Good Luck and be Safe! Let us know how you made out. Brian
