  1. Hello Bikini Bottom, Can I buy (4) 16 lb., black weights shipped to 13760 ? I can Paypal you with a total. Thanks, Don (Sutton 44).
  2. Blade Runners better than nothing, BUT 1) you can't "tune" them - they snap, and 2) they are not genuine silver plated. I have wondered several times if it would be worth the learning curve and expense to set up a very small "clandestine" silver plating operation to try to re-plate my own used up Sutton blanks and any others I could scrape up. Seems like the plating issue at Sutton has been going on long enough that if they really wanted, they would have found a solution. I have spoken with the owner several times over the last few years about the pent up demand for the product and that even if they passed on substantially higher plating cost they may still be at a price point much more attractive to their loyal customers than "scalper" prices on the online auction site. He doesn't seem to be particularly motivated to address the issue. OK, free country, his business not mine. Seems like their is more than enough demand that someone would step up. My humble opinion.
  3. I will take them. Let me know where to PayPal you.
  4. ISO a 13' - 13'6" float rod w/ high quality bearings in mint shape only. Worth a try to look here before going new. Not interested in beat up or starter gear. PM me if you have something that might fit the bill. Tight Lines, Sutton44
  5. Patriot, I agree completely. I bought a couple around four years ago, used them once, and took them off the boat. I have lost too many weights with much less violent "jolt" than these. Went back to Scotty. much smoother and more fishable IMO. I will make somebody a great deal, complete with swivel bases, vector double rod holders, and sub-troll cable and antenna on one of them !
  6. Nautitroller, though they look a lot like Suttons, they are not spring brass, they are a different metal, and hard to "tune" without stressing the metal. Also, I don't know if they are silver plate. Tuned hammered B/S Suttons out fish "out of the tissue paper" by a wide margin for me. An exagerrated "S" curve in 44s, 22s, 31s, and especially the larger 88s makes a world of difference at sub-2mph trolling speeds. Add a hand-fished sweep, pause trolling motion, and lakers love those tuned Suttons. Go Slowww ! On and off humps, back and forth onto and off of reefs, contours, close always as close to bottom as you can without picking up zebras. The Spoonman copies are better than heavy metal, but if you can find Suttons, break out the wallet , hold your nose, and buy them !
  7. I will take the two sections of track and the bert's swivel bases
  8. Hey Bling, no one is twisting arms here. A couple folks are looking for Alpenas, I'm looking for Sutton 44s. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. I have a decent supply of 41 and 51 size Alpena Diamonds, many NIP. Chartreuse/fire dots, brass, silver, many colors. Not looking to sell, but would trade 1 for 1 for Sutton 44 hammered silver/brass back in nice shiny condition. Would consider 31, 22 Suttons in same shiny finish.
  10. Hey Murph, I have Penn Yan 265 with an annoying passenger side seat that need to be removed and replaced with a bench configuration. The boat is in storage, so no dimensions readily available, but have been looking to reconfigure. Want something that can double as a bed. Drop curtain means foot rest has to drop down on a hinge when fishing. there is a storage area that is molded in below existing seats ( back to back, jump style I guess they are called. Solution needs to rest on this fiberglass in middle. Wish I could give you more to work from, but is this something you would take on ?
  11. Still have for sale the 2 Cannon Mag 10 HS with swivel bases and Vector double rod holders. These are in excellent condition, just too fast for my liking - I don't use the super heavy weights that these are designed for.
  12. Penn 345 both sold. Shimano 800 both still available, Mag 10HS, swivel bases, Vector dual RHs also still for sale. Shimano 800 are 165 each plus shipping or two for 330 shipped.
  13. Is there a decent winter fishery out of that area, or is it a big run back down south to get to fish ?
  14. Thinking of trying to get out Sunday. Anyone know the status of Watkins launch in Seneca or T- Falls ? Thanks for any info - long drive to turn around !
  15. I build 7' rods on saltwater fiberglass blanks with mod-fast action for core and copper, soft tip but plenty of power in bottom two thirds of the rod. Tough to find mass produced rods that i like for these applications. Many people like longer blanks like dipsy action rods, but i find them to be a bit too stiff for my taste, especially for LL salmon and rainbows when they go nuts. For 200' copper you might get away with the the old solid fiberglass boat rods, which are usually easily found used, usually cheap, at flea markets, yard sales, and local FLX tackle shops. Not fancy, but very forgiving and serviceable. They were what I always liked best for core, straight back, before I started making my own to spec. Just my 2 cents.

  17. Anyone know if the launch in town is usable ? The itch is getting pretty bad to get out, but don't want to make the drive if iced in. Thanks in advance, and tight lines, Sutton44
