  1. WTG camoman. .We fished the same water Monday morning and never poped a rod.
  2. The Titanic didn't look that bad. Don't breath in that black mold its bad stuff. Good luck.
  3. Sorry about that, take a tip from someone thats been doing this for 50years,get a pair of hedge trimmers, the bigger the better, you use them to cut the board line if they don't move out.
  4. With a bite like that he never had more than two rods in the water at one time. .
  5. I hear ya Ray, Mort. you got to quiet that day job.
  6. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: WNW Waves: 2 Surface Temp: 48deg. Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 3 Total Boated: 2 Species Breakdown: browns Hot Lure: Thunder stick Jr. rapala dolphin Trolling Speed: 18-28 gps. Down Speed: Boat Depth: 15ft to35ft. Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Launch about 7:30 am and headed out the channel, the lake had a nice chop, maybe 2fters, looked like nw wind so I went west so I could have a dry ride home. Set up out side the channel in 30fow and worked 15 to 35 fow 4lines on the boards 2 on the riggers. All hits came on the riggers,7 to 12ft.down on blue and silver thunder stick jr, orange gold rapala, carmel dolphin. got a small brown and another brown about 8lbs, lost one it was hhhuuge. Around noon we started getting those three or four fters so we called it a day, it was nice riding back to the bay with the waves and staying dry,no big numbers but a good day.
  7. Shakemsam, by new ones they don't cost much. The cord doesn't last that long. .
  8. Why don't you post the derby rules on this board, the $20 or so I'd spend for gas driving there to see the rules would pay to get in. . I don't do Face book.
  9. Capt Spike, If I have that trouble I turn the problem rod or rods guides away from the tow line so they won't catch. I had that trouble on my 28ft. and now on my 16ft. I've never lost a rod. Good luck.
  10. I had to redo the transom on my 1961 17ft. Arkansas Traveler I had to laminate three layers together to get the right thickness. I glued and screwed it together. Mine was a 17ft.cuddy with a 8ft beam and winshield on the hard top, keep the waves from coming over the top and down your neck. It was the best boat I ever owned for solo fishing,I could fish in four footers set four riggers and fight fish without running back and forth to the wheel. Good luck with the transom. BTW I sealed it with Epoxie before I installed it.
  11. Maybe you should have tried some good slugs.
  12. Pequodi, Why didn't you just take some out of your freezer? .
  13. If you have a long way to drive 10-15 is bad news, but a lot of the time the lake may be fishable with a 18-20ft.boat. In my 16fter. you will take a beating and get wet. I've found over the years you have to go and check the lake out to see what its really doing. Now that I said that you still don't know any more than you did. . Good luck and be safe.
  14. Try cranking them up with a little tendonitis in your elbows. I started out with hand cranks also but I worked in a machine shop and got stuck running an old lathe and screwed up my elbow, I had to go electric. I changed my share of switches, and its a pain in the pocketbook .
  15. Thanks for the post.
  16. Wow, that brings to mind a trip to Oswego years ago ,I had some factory Reps. setting up new machines in my department and one thought he would like to go out on the lake with me so that evening after work we went out and fished till dark,I think we got a few laker's that made him happy. I had an old Dodge van, pretty rusted out but ran good,I backed the trailer in and loaded the boat on,I was standing on the tongue and the van started rolling , my partner ran like hell and got in and stopped the van before the water went over the seat. Some one was good enough to pull it out for me . My partner said he wouldn't tell anyone, sure, I got to work the next day and the guard on the gate started laughing. I knew he couldn't keep it quit, it was to funny to see all the beer cans floating out of the holes in the box. The next day I went out and bought a new truck. .
