First: How old do you think this buck (JD buck) is ? I let him go since he was a button buck AND he has ALWAYS been a Spike horn (technically 3 pt now). Second: would you cull him out in bow season or any time? Third: Would anyone ever mount head/rack like that ? (kinda different) AND LAST: How would a buck like this ever be taken out of the gene pool if he is in a 3pt. antler (on 1 side) restriction unit/region or state they have rules for now? P.S. If you look closely at the ground in front of the doe, its my arrow i shot. A "kill shot" i took @ 12 yards. And i missed her whole body by 4 feet. I had to duck down in the blind after that shot because the doe was threatning to kick in my doors on my truck parked 5 trees away if i ever buy another arrow and come back ! Jerry Rebel Charters

This young buck has a FOREHEAD full of tree rubbing just days ago. Most camera pics were of bucks in bachelor groups & all had velvet off or like this buck it is coming off. Had lots of deer pics in just last 2 week span on cameras. Not much deer sign yet. Moved up & around 5 deer stands this past Sunday BEFORE the steady rains of last nite/today came. Thanks Claude, Realy appreciate the info. U.S.A. Lisa Jackson is no friend of the great lakes here. That's our government motto here "Details aren't made public till AFTER its signed" But made before the elections in Nov. The new Lake Ontario water level policy wants to change the average range we have now (since the 1950's) To include lower "LOW" water levels. Have you seen the level NOW ??? Our new water plant (built under the lake) here in Webster is now up to multiple destinations its pumping Lake Ontario water too. Also how the ships leaving the ALL the Great Lakes are now filling their ballast tanks with Fresh Lake Ontario water todeliver Free back home. Thanks Tom for the public heads up. It makes it alot easier for people to plan a trip up there knowing the fishing is that good NOW!!!! (NOT the usual should have been here last week). I also heard the Salmon river is having multiple runs of fresh kings (no coho's yet) too ! This heavey rain coming will peak it out down there very soon. Good luck the rest of the season. Well the fishing season came to a little earlier close than expected for me this year. So with the HEAVEY rains coming I decided to set all the deer cams & trim the trails before the washing rains came. The activity in the woods already is incredible. Bachelor buck groups & does w/little guys. Every year i set some cams facing the trail/entry way I came in on. It is amazing to see ALL the deer smell it out & react accordingly. Advice would be to (if possible) check/set deer cams and scout walks before or during the rain. It will help minimize the LEARNING EFFECT these deer react to. (Bucks fall for this 1 or 2 times then CHANGE habits for good) Just a thought as I watch the down pour outside now. Jerry Rebel Charters

There are clipped Coho salmon out there (left pectoral). We have caught & delivered them to D.E.C. The problem is neither the D.E.C. or the Ontario ministry of natural resources said they NEVER have clipped any. I questioned both agencies at same time during state of lake meetings. Jana Lantry (FED stocking guru to me @ least) worked on the last coho we gave her at a Niagara co. Pro-Am. She did confirm a fin clip and not a mutation/hatchery tank deformity. Jerry Rebel Charters
