  1. Gill-T Its a better visual without the korny lunch box You know my answer is Riggers all the way. Controlled depth Execution. Gill seen a piece of that last Pro-Am Jerry REBEL
  2. Tom, Jay-Vee is the spot (rick or carl). They have a guy that comes in every Sat. and picks them up. $10.95 per reel (+ parts) gets them taken apart. Left soaking in cleaning solution then oiled and re-assembled. Any bad parts(drag washers-missing tension knobs/springs) are replaced if bad. I just dropped my first 8 reels off past Fri. Let me know if you need any more info. Jerry REBEL PS Tom remember the time last fall off Sandy Creek and I saw you tangle EVERY LURE you had into a flying circus air stunt show or the time I was in my back yard on my phone and you showed up looking for directions to your truck IN YOUR BOAT. Man you REALLY make my days and evenings. THANKS :!: :!: :!:
  3. Edd, Your welcome. Check in often here, great bunch of people here. There is a lot to be learned east coast or west coast swap ideas. Jerry REBEL
  4. Edd, I run 6 cannon digi-troll IV HS models on my boat. Started out 29 years ago with hand crank Proos riggers and have tried most all or have fished other boats with them all. Some were better than others, BUT I love the Cannons for the reasons you stated. Jigging/digi-trolling cut bait for large tourny kings in late summer here is our main stay for the larger king salmon(not as much for quantity though) And Ion controll works best for us to MOVE FISH (set on high) rather than an attractor. Most charter guys I talk with agree the Ion deal works Way better in salt water as an attractor. We have 2 riggers for bottom tracking (master and slave) Great for lake trout fishing and smaller-temp. orientated brown trout. But we also love the bottom track feature with a second temp. probe on it to monitor bottom currents and find bottom temp. pockets. The bottom tracking feature was anywhere from average to difficult to run on the cannons over the years though. We upgrade the cannons every few years and as for up speed NO rigger is faster to change/reload lure sets. Couple tipps with the cannons is get the low profile stainless mounts (17 locking positions) ocean version, allows you to precisely keep your weights apart against deepwater blowback or side swaying of the weights.. And stick with the old style cannon booms, solid 1 piece (No telescopic booms) especially with the 6 footers. Hope that helps and if you come up with any new cannon combinations PLEASE TELL. JERRY REBEL
  5. Capt. Jack Best of luck to you in all you do. You know you always have a ride to the east of you :!: Jerry REBEL
  6. Scott B Your killing me with those 2 spoons. Billy V You have to know how hard of a question this is for a spoon guy like me to settle on. I am still thinking any 2 I can speed adjust, Mag and slim. Jerry REBEL
  7. Am I too late or do we now have an EVEN number again :?:  Jerry REBEL
  8. Hey, I recognize this guy,s typing. Where have you been R ? Heard about another RAMPAGE out of the river attacking me this summer from the east. Best of luck. Jerry REBEL
  9. BOB, What happend? Call me with THE STORY. Jerry REBEL
  10. YEAH CHRIS, Whats up with this? I cannot come from the back of the pack tourn. days with NO MORE PACK!!! Jerry REBEL

  14. HEY HANS Any predictions on how much snow we will get this winter? Just kidding EVERYONE, This post is actually an old ribbing on my Karnac friend Hans. Keep in touch! Nostradamus
  15. DAKER That was a good old fashion joke played on the Runnin Rebel crew. I really got a kick out of that one. Capt. Pat was alittle serious at first but then saw his name again. (NOTE to self: You should really beat that guy to rods on YOUR boat) BUT had I known it was coming I would have put down under LOCATION OF CATCH----- BEHIND the freedom charters boat It was the first time we have hit the trifecta in ONE day ( King-rainbow-brown placing fish) Funny story is we cut up a top 10 laker day before for not everyone in derby  Good luck to every one in it AND best of luck to everyone trying to knock the snot of the leader board. Jerry REBEL
  16. Rick, ARE YOU KIDDING the REBEL cannot WAIT :!: :!: :!: Who are you with? Jax is in my marina (my mink right?) See you then Jerry REBEL
  17. Get the Net Sun charter we fished 80 to 95 feet of water from the park east to lighthouse. I went back out mon nite with wife and 2 year old for alittle over an hour of trying a new lure program. We fished 95 to 115 feet of water and boated 3 big kings and 1 laker. I will be back out wed and thur with the LIGHTNING LURE manufacture and again fri-sat and sun. So if you guys get out give a shout on channel 72. Jerry REBEL Tom no problem keep in touch OR race by my house in any direction you like PS Mike Jones YES water temps were moving HARD Sun. had to troll east or cut current on angles to get set running right. That is why I went to a very fast test set mon nite to see if I could beat that current.
  18. First of all I owe an apology to FISHIN MAN TOM. Tom I was sleeping at 5 pm when you called and my wife made a valliant effort describing your message on my voice mail. (Had bad dreams the rest of my nap after her description  ) Please tell me you worked over the bait and marks in 85 to 105 feet any were from the park east? Our charter today involved 1 long troll that whole stretch and we worked them hard with a spoon only program. Never turned around on them at all today. Fish hit very light today and lost a few of the bigger kings today. With out getting into the numbers thing we ended up with a lot of catch/release and a cooler full of mostly kings and a good batch of browns along with the bonus lakers. Very interesting day today with all that bait around pulling fish out of it. Tom please call any time as you just caught me out cold tonight. PS If you/wife and any other LOU members want to get out for an evening trip or weekend run I have off let me know, You guys are always welcome. Jerry REBEL
  19. Freeman, Runnin Rebel will be out Sun AM of Sandy creek, Hamlin NY if that is what you mean. I am expecting warm water has pushed in from the west and temps should be down to that 80'-100' mark. We will see and good luck to you, we stay on channel 72 , and will scan if I get up east with the river charter fleet. Jerry Rebel
  20. Hans- Jim, Buck is still alive out east. He fished oswego pro-ams with me right up till a few years ago. Still see him at DEC days in Avon and Giddy is still strong as a German Ox. Good to see you Jim back up west here, We had a good run with you at west end pro-am years back. William Alhart (prism Tape) Still one of my favorite fishing minds (steelhead GOD) hopefully still fishes with you. PS Please tell me the prominent charter boat who helped you guys out that day so I can pick his brain too. See you soon and best of luck Jerry REBEL
  21. Chad, How much was the offer :?: Ray has ALL kinds of crazy money$$$ and Musky Bob has enough brains for both him and RAY PLEASE RECONSIDER and wait for their offer. Jerry REBEL
  22. Doug and Hank, I can personally vouch for Tony and the rest of the WARSHIP clowns :!: Warship and REBEL tend to team up off Oswego waters every year. Make sure tony lets you in on the Capts. pool (cash) side bet at the meeting fri nite. HORN or NO HORN I will see you guys in oswego. Hope to meet you Hank and Doug also. Jerry REBEL
  23. Tom, First of all I would try a 1-800 call to the GPS manufacture hot line and describe what happened. I am sure they will tell you the problem and hopefully the inexpensive fix or adjustment. PS You are welcome for the directions back to Sandy Mon .nite. That was me on the telephone in my front yard you came into. In the future if you see my glass front of house you know you are east of Sandy creek. Your welcome to stop by anytime in the future By car or boat your choice Great to meet you again ! Jerry REBEL
  24. Fred, (Steelhead'r) That is a class act post. I have fished against and mostly with Irish Thunder Joe. He may be a little tough to look at  but that guy has helped the Rebel team out at EVERY Pro-Am we have fished together in. He gives me advice BEFORE AND DURING the tournaments is what sets him apart to me.(Plus he is my wife"s favorite of ALL the captains I know :?: :?: :?:  ) No Way, But any how GREAT tournament this year to learn in. See you and team thrillseeker at the east end show down, best of luck to you and your brother. PS tell your brother that if he was on any other Pro boat besides Irish Thunder , they would have not only stayed out BUT charged him $4.00 for the lure he took to the hospital Jerry REBEL
  25. Good luck to every one in the next 2 weeks Pro-Am,s. Runnin-Rebel is docked at Four C,s Marina at Oak Orchard AND then at West side of Olcott Town Marina. Feel free to stop by and introduce yourselfs at the boat or weigh station tents. Thanks to you guys who have left messages, wishing the REBEL team luck (much appreciated) Thought I would post a list of the IMPORTANT things I have learned in the last 16+ years of these types of tournaments. NUMBER 1 HAVE FUN 2 It is your team VERSES the LAKE (NOT OTHER TEAMS) You can only controll what goes in your cooler. 3 Plan your work AND work your plan (Vince-Thrillseeker quote that stuck with me for many years) He also preaches Do Not leave fish to find fish. 4 You have 2 ears and 1 mouth USE THEM IN THAT PROPORTION and you will learn MUCH MORE! 5 Do not expect alot of information at once. Do not lie (good-bad or nothing) earn respect. 6 If you lose (so WHAT) lose with class AND IF you WIN (NO BETTER FEELING I promise that) WIN WITH MORE CLASS!!! AND LAST HAVE MORE FUN and learn. Jerry REBEL
