  1. Any time John can't wait to hook you into a real king ..... not just a baby when the screen looks this good kinda expect a release but ??? just wasn't meant to be....
  2. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Triple SSS ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 6/20 Time on Water: 5:30-11:00 Weather/Temp: sunny hot Wind Speed/Direction: 10-15 WSW Waves: < 1' Surface Temp: 65 Location: from the nose to watoma LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 5 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown: 1king, 1 steelhead Hot Lure: Spin docs took 4 of 5 hits Trolling Speed: 2.0-2.75 Down Speed: 2.2-3.0 Boat Depth: 65'-185' Lure Depth: 40'-115' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Started out in 65' with a great looking screen only to catch nothing worked out and never really saw much to get excited about. There's just to much water for the fish to be comfortable in. Down 15' the temp was 47, at 80' temp was 42. John was a pleasure to have you join me for the trip ====================
  3. Having just retied ALL of my lead cores I'd strongly recommend the Willis knot.... easy to do and works great.
  4. One of the most leathal combinations that ever came out of my gun was a 3",#4 heavy shot. Thru a mod choke tube. Stoned geese at 35 yards but that being said, I'm not really fond a $3 a shot even if they are down right awesome . Start every season with a couple of boxes just to build up my confidence then transition to my norm 3" black cloud in BB. I was offered 4 boxes of the new 1660 fps snow goose loads but NONE of the feedback was good about it. A lot of different tubes shoot good but the best for my Berreta A390 ST has been a undertaker supermod for ducks/ geese at long distance 40 yards + and the factory mod for anything less. I'll also put in my 30" barrel if they will not decoy. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  5. As a land owner (all be it small) my land is posted for a reason, the law is VERY clear about my responsibility to prevent lawsuits. As a member of the Genesee Conservation League, the property that is adjacent to the Manitou pit please feel free to trespass the east side of the creek. The consequences might change your mind . When someone feels that the law doesn't apply to them just because others do it , I'm left with even LESS respect for my fellow sportsman. RONPAUL do as you may but, remember YOU and only you can be held accountable for your actions.
  6. REALLY !!!!! glad to see you understand what PRIVATE means. when they start arresting everyone down in the pit then maybe you'll respect the posted signs for the reason they were posted.
  7. Thanks Jim, those things are wild, hooked one TWICE at the boat but, never stuck a hook in him. The one Bill caught was almost twice the size of mine. The school of fish in the shallows was an unbelievable experience. As fast as we could get lures to them they would hit.
  8. lets not forget these things Or the bass you caught that was missing at least half of his spine , no joke this fish was maybe 10" long but had the mouth of a 3 lb. fish had a great time thanks, Gator
  9. Let us know how much you like it when a 30+ lb. king wraps around your pail .... might want to just adjust the low idle screw on the carb of your motor. Would think a 50 hp outboard would troll at around 2.0-2.5 if properly tuned. My 60 used to troll at 1.8 pushing a 16' Sea Nymph. Sure it was lighter than your Tri-hull.
  10. you can run any line you want that JUST the rated capacity of the reel you've bought. As far as a hit on your Dipsey when the rod is BUCKLED OVER and the drag is SCREAMING you will know . This dipsey fish had so much torque on the holder my brother couldn't get it out of the holder
  11. When I ran my 16' sea nymph I had the same thing as Trolling Keuka , Chinook 1981 it's pretty straight forward measure your beam cut your wood place it on your step pads. The glass should be reinforced there anyhow. Your mount could be blind (through the board) or a stud type (from under) depends on weather your going to remove it for other types of fishing. What ever you decide remember there's a fair amount of torque against the board so at a minimum us 3/8" hardware and while the notion to go with stainless is nice it's more brittle than regular steel. Use jam nuts the thought of losing the board with everything is NERVE RACKING ...
  12. would not want to have the mounts on the transom if I only had 4" of boat to keep me from falling out... maybe you don't fish in any rough water but leaning over the back of the boat is a recipe for trouble.
  13. The thing about mounting ANYTHING is make sure it fits YOU and your boat.
  14. Fished out of Olcott last Fri. and had to remove 3 different lamprey ..... there's a few "extra pieces" now
  15. As your boat is very similar to my Lund I'd recommend mounting a swivel base just in front of the step pad. Put a 6" riser to bring your riggers to a level that is user friendly. Go with a set of rear mount rod holders and your in. If you want I'll take some pics after it stops raining .....1"-2" forecast for the next day and a half
  16. well done John, great looking eaters there.
  17. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Triple S ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 5/2 Time on Water: 8:30-10:30 Weather/Temp: Cold 45 Wind Speed/Direction: ENE Waves: 1'-2' white caps Surface Temp: 45 Location: Ibay to Genny LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 1 Total Boated: 1 Species Breakdown: King Hot Lure: Black and Gold Bomber Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Got to love the weatherman south west less than 10 and you get crap. Trolled east with them from the bay, in and out but realized the mud line was just too dirty. Turned north till I hit 40' green water and BAM flat line with a couple of shot ( Thank you, Capt. Drake ) is ripping......... got to love the spring king Made it to the river and turned to the east took a couple sprays to the face and wasn't dressed for that . Called it with 1 in the bag...... nice morning ====================
  18. Make your dealer replace the injectors ... All of them it's something BRP has an ongoing issue with. They did 1 of mine after it failed, then all after the second one failed. I've not had any other issues since (knock on wood) [ Post made via iPhone ]
  19. Bri, You will fill up the SD card before the battery dies. We took ours to Costa Rica and the 32 gig card was full in like 2 or 2.5 hours (on 1080) if you lower the resolution it will run longer ..... cool video but the fish-eye lens is a little tough to get used too
  20. Save yourself a lot of frustration and just change the whole fixture with a good (perko) assembly. Buddy replaces bow light every year. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  21. Watch the weather forcast NW 20-30.... 5'-7' subsiding to 4'-6'. Good luck and be safe out there
