    We took 10 fish this morning in as little as 40 fow....... browns and kings, but no mature kings......biggest brown was 12 lbs. biggest king about the same...... all spoons...... cold water was moving in as the day went along...... beautiful morning, and a fun trip with my oldest daughter.

    Well put Bill....... Without a weigh station close to the creek, Fishing out of Sandy in the weekday evening requires a trailering fisherman to quit fishing by 6:30 so he can safely run in, load the boat on the trailer(hoping there is no line at the dock), then drive 20 miles to the Oak (on the back roads, because the Parkway is the road equivalent of 4 footers), in time to make the 8:00 PM deadline...... It makes the decision to not fish the LOC derby a little easier to arrive at..... here's to hoping that one rule change would be considered

    So If I understand this......... I catch a fish at 11PM, and this fish cannot be weighed, because I can't get it to an open weigh station on the day it was caught. I catch a fish at 2AM, and I can weigh it once the stations open...... ???

    tough night for me out of Sandy....... we took one brown..... temps went deep..... seemed to be more fish East towards Braddocks.... it was a struggle.

    Some years ago, we snagged via cannonball, an old piece of submerged gill net on Lake Erie. The net was full of rotting fish and was a tangled mess of mono netting. We were happy to cut our way out of it and watch it sink back into the depths.......... but the stink remained on us, and I think it does to this very day........

    Saw a young of the year yote on the way home from the launch on Saturday morning......... can't wait.

    Dylan..... an early morning trip is pretty safe....... sunrise to 10 AM......but please be careful...... maybe go with a friend.....too bad it's gotta be that way....... such a nice place to fish.

    Fished from about 5 til 6:30, and landed a couple browns and a shaker........ not a monster, but we weighed in a 10 lb 7 oz fish in the Orleans...... East wind was blowing pretty hard........ it was not easy fishing. The screen was pretty much barren..... a little bait here and there, and the fish were on the bait. We spent most of the night in 80 - 90 FOW...... If it blows like this for very long, temps will be coming way up.

    We fished tonight from about 6 Pm 'til 8, and landed a low 20's king and one skippy...... losing another nice king at the back of the boat. Hardly marked any fish, and fished between 100 and 200 fow....... all 3 bites came on spoons behind divers out 250 - 275.

    I also use a 24v Terrova in autopilot mode on the bow of a 18' aluminum boat in conjunction with a 9.9 kicker, trolling for walleyes and salmon............ works well.

    I've run Shimano Triton rods that were purchased in the 90's for downrigging, with a twilli tip and they've worked fine......... like above, they may not be perfect, but they've worked fine and keep on ticking.

    This is the 1st season we've run Chamberlain releases, and they do perform as advertised....... the silver bass on Erie will trip them..... they're pretty sweet.

    I thought a few of the mature fish we've caught this year have looked their teeth are pushing up already. Seems a little early.........

    Fished out of SP yesterday, and managed 5. We spent some time out by the fence and took 2 pretty quick fish, but there weren't many marks and after a couple of hours on an east troll we ran way west (no fun running) and stayed N, but still not many marks....... it wasn't until we came south that we started marking fish/bait, and took 3 more in there..... Not a great outing, I think we covered alot of MT water. all fish came on sticks or spoons......
