  1. I attended this years show and enjoyed 2 of the one hour seminars, along with visiting many vendors on the floor..... overall I thought the show was very good. The only improvement I can recommend would be to have the detailed seminar schedule available more in advance.... and as luck would have it, one of the seminars I was most interested on Friday, was cancelled. Thanks to all who made it possible. Looking forward to next years show.
  2. Thanks Bill, the pup is coming along. ..... we've chased some fox there but no coyotes yet...... they're there, we just haven't been there when they are. Seems like the coyotes are starting to show themselves more now, and we had a pair together yesterday. The winter's been easy so far. I've never seen so much fat on them.......
  3. One from today... and my 6 mos old pup giving her an earful.....
  4. Some of the reviews indicate 10 lb ish trigger pull........ put an adjustable or replaceable trigger on it and I would be interested.
  5. JTT...... what's the .17 WSM or .17 Rem do to a fox?
  6. I purchased a CZ 452 in .17 HMR 8 or 9 years ago, and put a Leupold 3 x 9 Vari-X III on it....... It's been reliable and accurate. Good for fox, coons, and walking pigeons...... a little too lite for yotes IMHO. I'm itchin to get a .17 WSM......
  7. EMT Gel will help with cuts and bleeding.... Ears bleed like crazy
  8. Very cool....... a little warm weather in January and February really wakes them up....
  9. Nice shootin! Pap..... there's 2 protective brothers to keep the wolves in line.....
  10. Casting is "different". Look up a couple videos on Wallis cast and you will see how to cast with minimal line twist. Like was mentioned, casting off the side is another method. A combination of the two is what most people use. Spending some time in your yard casting just a heavy float will help you get the hang of it. I spent about 10 hours over the course of a week wallis casting a float in my front yard before ever going to the creek, and I'm sure it saved me alot of frustration. Most centerpins have no drag system, so the hand on the reel spool is your drag. In the winter months, guide icing can make for more tangles, so you'll get in the habit of deiceing more often or pay the price. I have changed all of trib trout fishing to centerpinning, and really do enjoy it.
  11. Last winter, a friend spotted a bobcat in the Brockport area....... there are a few around, or maybe just transients...??
  12. You may consider some "rubber meat"......... MCRockets. There's a learning curve, and a time and a place for them, but I prefer them to real meat 80% of the time.
  13. My experience is that they work very well........ I really can't think of cons...... I've used them for ducks and pigeons, and set up a rechargable battery to use with them...... As for size, I'm not sure it matters much...... I've used a mojo dove in with duck decoys, and they really don't seem to care..... it's the flash that attracts them.....
  14. Port Colborne buoy showing 16 feet.
  15. Two man limit out of the Catt yesterday. Beautiful November day on the water......60 '.
  16. I think you can pretty much give up on Federal Agencies caring about what critters the local sportsmen want in their ecosystems. They have an agenda and your opinion isn't important........ just ask any elk hunter living in Montana, Idaho, or Wyoming what they think about the Federal wolf re-introduction programs. The Feds agenda was to reestablish a native species, regardless of the impact on game populations...... sound familiar?
  17. Chris ..... I'll take the Saltists and rods..... I'll pm with pick up details. Mike
  18. Dogfish Head 60's...... Bell's Two Hearted Ale...... and Oskar Blues G'Knight Imperial Red Ale 3 great brews
  19. Only 2 walleyes off Dunkirk today. one on a harness, one on a stinger scorpion.....maybe 20 junk fish.... bit I did mark some pretty big schools of perch between 70 and 75 fow, west of the port.
