  1. I took 4 kids out from 7 to two years old on the 6th on Cayuga. We put a lot of fish in the boat some legal salmon and several nice lakers. Same program as Canandaigua the bait and temps are from 40 to 60 down out over deep water. The weeds suck as do the fleas. It is almost no fun trolling Cayuga this time of year you get all the rods out and hit a wall of weeds. Thats what I like about Ontario, the fleas on Ontario are no where near as bad either. But I will still be out Sat and Sun only fishing the derby on Sun, so you know Sat is when all the big ones will land in the boat. Sean
  2. Hi Chuck, 53 to 60 FOW is where I found the temps. We never went in less than 120, a lot of fish were out in the center of the lake and towards the West side. Sean
  3. Took a trip out of the South end of Canandaigua today we started at 6am and finished up at 11:30. For the first two hours we hit the Lakers on the West side two miles North of the launch. I wanted to run a ten rod spread but I couldn't keep the riggers and the two wire divers in the water. The deep rigger was at 80 and the other at 50 to 65 FOW or where ever I could find the 56 deg temp. The two divers were out 180 and 220 on 1.5 with flasher and flys. We let all the lakers we could go but had to keep some that inhaled the flys to deep. I moved all the riggs up for my Bow program, from 65 to 20 FOW and got my boards out. It was non stop Rainbow action all the way up to when we pulled in the last line. We put 18 bows in the boat with only one that was to short. Three of them will hit the grill tonight the rest went back in the lake. The riggers at the 56 deg temp were hot, as well as 200, 300 copper 10 and 12 color core, speed was 2 to 3mph at ball. Small spoons and small sticks 2.5 inches did the trick on the bows. The wire dipsey riggs were non stop on the lakers. The area around Blacks point and South was best for bows today. I wished I lived closer to this lake it put Seneca to shame today. Sean
  4. They start to spawn when the water temp hits 52 but can tolerate temperatures up to 70. When that shallow water near shore warms up they will be out and down by the T-Cline. Or if you get some wind that pulls the warm water into shore it will move them out. I have had that happen by taughock a time or two you will have temps at the bottom that are 65 to 70. Sean
  5. Sounds like you had a great day I will be out on Cayuga Sat and Sun if any of you guys are out. Sean
  6. Thanks Ray .
  7. Who gets 80%? Not anyone checking you on the lake.
  8. (". I can see being boarded by the dec to check fish or the coast gaurd to be out checking for life safety issues but i dont think you are going to find many people running drugs in a 22 foot boat with downriggers and a 115 horse mercury motor.") How do you think it gets across the Lake? A few hundred pounds of dope goes in the cooler's from Can in one fishing boat and hits the US shore in the second fishing boat, the same with guns and cash. With the Indian reservations on both sides of the border its a never ending flow. The Coast guard bording officer bording your boat is always looking for the mother load, and they should be. Its no different than a traffic stop. Sean
  9. We fished are first Pro Am this last weekend out of the Oak. It was also are first time fishing from the oak or that area of Lake Ontario. We fished friday morning and could never find the big Kings so I ran out deep and found the Bows we knocked them good on Friday and if the weather would of held out for Sat we would of had are 12 fish eazy. Saturday we headed North/West but not as deep as I wanted I had my daughter with me and it was geting bumpy. We hit some fish as soon as we set up and put two in the box a Bow and a Coho the rest were short kings. I did have a fish slam the 10 color core and after a long fight it came un done. I wanted to troll back to the North East but with my daughter on the boat we trolled in with the waves. We finished the day with two in the box, but had a great time. Saturday I ran out deep to 570 along with some others who had the same plan. I set up for bows and we went to work on them we ended the day 7 bows, 1 king, and 1 coho in the box and several short kings. We didnt get the 12 fish but we had over 77lbs with the 9 we boxed. Like most of the other post it was a spoon bite. I probably would of had my 12 fish on Sun if I pulled my deep riggs, but those marks at 120 to 140 made me keep a rod or two down deep. All of are fish came fom 20 to 70 down on spoons. I think we did ok, we didn't have the information coming in that a lot of teams have and it was all new water for us. We did have a great time and my 7 year old daughter had a blast she put a lot of the fish in the boat. We will be back next year to do it all again . Sean
  10. Nice Job Andy, I will be out Sat for most of the day. If any of you guys are out give me a call and will swap notes Sean
  11. Thanks for the info guys . I will see ya at the Oak. Sean
  12. Hi folks I entered the pro am for the Oak a few weeks ago. I payed with Pay Pal should I have received any info on the pro am or at least an e-mail? All I got was the e-mail from pay pal that my money was payed. Second in the rules it states the captains meeting will be conducted the evening before each event, is that Sat and Sun? And last it states the location and time for the meeting is on the website I don't see it. Thanks for the help. Sean
  13. If you have no chop and bright sun get down to at least 20. I always have a 4 color core an 100 copper out. Sean
  14. Looks Like I will be fishing all day Sat and Sun with charter trips for the derby. Just give me a call and I will give ya what info I have. Ifits like past years you better call my cell the radio gets bad. Shoot me a pm and I will give it to ya or you can get it off my contact page from my web-site. Thanks Sean
  15. Fished Cayuga Saturday and Sunday. We had good trips both days, it was not non stop action but we put 12 in the boat Sat and 9 today. Its the typical late spring fishing either get them down deep or go in close to shore. The fish all suspended down 40 to 60 out deep are not doing a thing now. ( at least for me). All of are fish were from the power plant North from 120 out to 300+ and most came down 100 to 120 FOW on Mag dipseys Spin/Dr and w/flys. We did take some on the 100 copper and 4 color core and a rigger at 80. I see a T-cline starting to set up off of Long point today. Marked a lot of bait down 100 to 140 over 150. Yesterday we had all lakers from 1 Lb to 10lbs. Today the 9 fish we did get before they turned off were big all 8 to 11 pounds. We got one fish that was just under 34 inches but it was only 9lbs, it was a nice looking fish with bright orange and white fins. ( no marks or fin clips).
  16. Hi Andy, I am going to be on Seneca or Cayuga if I get on Cayuga I will get ya on the radio. I wil have to check out my radio.
  17. Had planed on fishing the turnament Sat but ended up with some charter trips. So when I hit the lake this morning I knew I should of got the crew and clients entered last night. We started at Meyers and found bait and fish down deep on both sides of the point. We put 4 or 5 in the boat. I picked up the riggs and we ran up to the power plant, we made one pass and found some fish up around 20 down to 130. We put some small Salmon and 2 lakers around 8lbs in the boat. I have a couple good Laker spots North where the fish set up for the summer so we ran North into the waves. What is up with the wind this year ? We found what we were looking for, lots of bait up high 30 to 60 ft and lots of fish. I only had one client on the boat and he did a lot of reeling. We had two or three on at a time Lakers, Salmon, and a nice brown. One Laker was between 13.4 and 14lbs. My scale didnt like the waves. We had another that was 10.8 lbs. Thats what I get for not entering the Derby Blue and silver spoons down 15 to 20 off boards, and flasher/flys down deep took all the fish, speed at ball was 2mph 2.2 to 3 on gps.
  18. The weekend just opened up for me. I am going to enter on Friday and I will be up fishing with the kids Sat or Sun. You guys might lose to three little girls
  19. Hi Glen all but two were kings on Friday but most of them were small 4 to 8lbs. Not my Parker at Olcott, but they are a great boat we had some nasty water Thursday afternoon but the boat handles it great. I wish we could of fished Saturday morning, but it didn't take long for it to get nasty. Sean
  20. As most of you probably know the KOL tournament was canceled Saturday and Sunday. I did get to fish Thursday and Big fish Friday. Thursday we took out some friends from PA and had a good day, we had a mixed bag of Bows, Cohos, Kings, Lakers and the prize of the day one Big Atlantic . After fishing on the Finger lakes for all these year it was nice to see an Atlantic that size. The atlantic was just over 17lbs and hit on a DW green gator down 60 off a dipsey. The fish went crazy but he ended up on the deck. On big fish Friday we didnt get started till 7:30 when my crew rolled into town. We fished just West of Willson and ended up with 20 salmon, the largest was only 20 and hit 140 down on a dipsey flasher/ fly combo. Satuday and Sunday we had the winds from hell and it was all over. The Atlantic had a dorsal fin that looked clipped like the Finger Lake fish, or it had been damaged at the hatchery. Sean
  21. Good luck to all of you guys on Saturday. I have to work I will be looking at you guys fishing on Seneca as I drive around the lake . I still plan on fishing some I will mail out the entry money this week. Sean
  22. Yankee, I made the same mistake off of the canal, we took some big kings off the canal on Friday so we spent most of are time on Sat at the canal. By the time we hit the bar and figured out what spoons they wanted the East wind picked up and it was all over. In two weeks in Wilson I hope we have some fish out deep. Sean
  23. Nice job we could see you guys out on the lake on the way back down 14. Sean
  24. Hi Dale, Not this weekend the crew I had was all tired out. I had the wife with me and she was ready to come home today .
