  6. I just finished having coffe with ENCON at my office they got alot of complaints on the guy. He wanted some more info, we work together all of the time so I figured I would check with you guys. The guy might be on this forum but he knows its coming already so no need to beat around the bush. It is a problem that needs to stop. Sean

  8. Sounds good Paul. The wind he ordered for the second day of the Willson Scotty last year was great . Paul how do you get your fishing Lic, and are most of the fishing regs the same as NY. Now is it April yet? Thanks Sean
  9. Are any of you guys going to get a crew together to fish the first Scotty tournament in St. Catharines April 23, 24, and 25th? I am thinking of fishing it but I have never fished north of the border. I could use some info on Hotels and the marina that is used for the Scotty. I’m sure Yvan has all the info but some of you might have fished this one before. I think the wife is going so I want to get it set up to keep things smooth . Also if any of you are going to go, or if this is going to be your first time I am going to go up early to pre-fish we could share some info. Thanks Sean Brown
  10. Like I tell the wife im not spending money on the boat im investing it Trolling82 I will probably have to run some trips in the morning on the 28th 29th and 30th, but get your crew together from this forum and I will pick you guys up in the afternoon at your slip and we will hit it in my boat for awile. I owe you some trips for your work on my barn. I have not got to fish the derby for my self in years, we need to fill that Rainbow division up . Sean
  11. The LL salmon fishing on the Finger Lakes is great it does have some faults, It is a put and take fishery. The state in all its wisdom puts salmon into a lake like Cayuga for example that are to short. The legal length of these fish on Cayuga is 18 inches, the schools of starving LL salmon they dump in the lake are 9 to 15 inches. It is a slaughter Like Ray said you try to avoid them when you find them, but as they spread out over the more productive spots you get into them. I dont care who you are or what riggs you are using when they bite they get tore up. Even the ones that swim away are messed up. I have changed hooks from trebels to singles it does not help. The fish fight hard and will bite lures three times their body size. If you wanted to catch them you could fill the boat with two rgger rods. I bet at least 90% of the hooked these fish dont make it. If the size limit was lower or if they put bigger fish in the lake less salmon would be floating around dead. The one good thing on the Fingers is we have bait the length of the lake and so many salmon are stocked many do make it. You can put nice salmon in the boat all day. But it hurts to watch a dam good eating fish float away for seagull bait. I bet we could prevent the fish kill we could just stop fishing and hang out with Has Benn . Well not me give me three rods charge me a 100 dollars more a year to run three per person on my charter boat so my out of state clients dont pay the bill, and call it a day. Then put the money towards some more soak time on those short salmon in the hatchery. Thanks Sean
  12. It sounds like the only problem some folks have with the three rod rule ( trolling) is possible increase in fish kill. I would like to see the 3 rod change. I used to fish the tribs on the Finger Lakes for years. I stayed home from school to fish April first from the time I was 6 or 8 years old. I have seen first hand the destruction of the rainbow population. These fish were kicked and snatched out of the creek by guys who if they ran 50 rods could not catch them on the lake. So I ask you this, is the guy catching 20 fish, keeping 3, trolling with 3 rods killing more fish than the guys that keep three in the creek that are spawning and are laying 200 to 8000 eggs per fish? I am willing to bet most of the guys on this forum are sportsman who will protect the resource for the future no matter how many rods they run. Sean
  13. Only dipsey rods I run on the Finger Lakes have wire on them. Like Ray said if you use power pro the fleas will put an end to your fishing fast. We had days last summer were we had to have a guy standing at the tip of the wire line rod to keep the fleas off. I have had times when my mag 10 riggers have jamed up with fleas. I wish we had the Ontario fleas, you dont shake off the fleas on the Finger Lakes. But I wish I was picking fleas off my line now. Come on spring Sean
  14. All of the Sportsman Shows are starting up soon. How about puting up a table at these events with Brochures Pictures EX? Like other have said I know alot of guys that fish the Finger Lakes, Erie, and even Ontario that do not Know about the Pro Ams. I will be set up at the Watkins Glen Community center show in March, if I had the material and some info to put out I would. We are going to fish two of them this year for the first time. Thanks Sean
  15. What does that have to do with the 3 rod rule? Nice job Long Line no argument from me.
  16. Hookedup

    Tip Ups?

Going to get back into ice fishing, I have some tip ups I want to rig back up. How do you guys rig them up for pearch? Line, size hook ex. I am going to get out on Cayuta Sunday if all goes as planed. Thanks for the help. Sean Brown
  17. Any one have a Clam 2000? interested in picking up a shelter Thanks Sean
  18. Lakebound88, Dump the seth green rig talk about a pain in the but The copper we run is run like lead core in sections ex 200, 300, 400, and 600 ft sections and with core I run 2 colors up to 12 colors. You can use copper for anything its just a way to get your lure to the depth you want. If you want send me a pm some time I will show you the riggs I run when im back on Seneca this spring. As for wire dipsy rods they are the only dipsey riggs I would start with they will put fish in the boat. They will out fish your seth green rig and be much more enjoyable. Sean
  19. Two Okuma Blue Diamond rods no rollers, Four Ugly Stix 10ft 6 all with wire. The reel with a great drag is more important. Okuma Catalinas, and Shimano Tekotas reels have had good luck with all of them. Sean
  20. I have the HDS 5 and the HDS 10 both have been great units. I only have one year on them.

  22. Ray are you going to fish the first Scotty in April? I think we are going to give it a try all of the guys are getting passports so we can go North. Sean
  23. Yankee what big boards are you using and how do you have them hooked up on the boat? I have the Otter Boards and a Big john double mast but I have not put them on new boat. With the new boat I was going to put the mast on the pulpit but it might be to far forward.

  25. Do any of you with the Troll Master have the RPMs go up and down with out adjusting the unit. I had one on my last boat and it acted like it was always moving the throttle up and down. I had a servo go also and they sent me a new one but it did the same thing with the new unit. It didn't effect the speed but the sound of the motor going up and down drove me nuts. Sean
