I have an Raymarine ST5000 (hydraulic) on a 27 Sportcraft. it is a inboard with a cylinder turning the rudder. It really would not matter what the cylinder turns, rudder, I/O or outboard. The system uses another pump that takes over for the steering wheel pump when active. No noise but you must remember to turn it off before going to the steering wheel or you will wonder why the boat won't respond to the wheel. My previous 23' boat had the Raymarine mechanical under the steering wheel. It worked well but was noisy. By far, the choice would be hydraulic if you already have hydraulic steering.

Last year I installed a new Yamaha T9.9XPA on a 27 Sportcraft (inboard). Motor is great. Paid $2800 from a dealer in Pa. Add about $275 for a Yamaha #703 controller. Bought cables online for about $100. Also hooked up a tach with hourmeter for $60. Tach is needed because it is so quiet it is hard to hear it running at idle. Hourmeter on tach is great for oil change info. I would not go any other way!

I checked R&R and there is no equal. Their spoon have a more distinct line around the 6 sided "scale" from the die. This is a spoon I bought many years ago and never used. Put in on in 2012 and it was very active. It was a magnum size. The one in the pic was a size such as a NK28 that was given to me by a friend who is a charter Capt. He didn't know the name either.

For Sale : USA Anyone looking for a New Mercury 25hp 4-stroke $995

Check this out http://www.bbb.org/blog/2012/09/sure-this-website-has-great-deals-but-is-the-company-reputable/ If you read the website they mention "white glove service". This BBB complaint mentiones that about a few websites with similar names. I would certainly stay away. -

It sounds too good to be true. I had to look. Also saw a Yamaha T9.9XPA which was interesting. I purchased one last year from a local dealer in Pa for $2700. Looking at the pics, that is exactly the way it came, in a large styrofoam case with a cardboard box over it all. Has anyone bought anything from this site and is it OK?? That 50 Yamaha sure looks good. I have had my thoughts on a F70LA to repower a 17.5 Sea Nymph I use for bass and Walleye. That cost is $7900 from my dealer. $1500 sure sounds better to live with 20 hp less. -

Bass fishing in Mexico
lrg355 replied to jsmith009's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I have been doing well on bass and northern pike in Sandy Pond lately. -
Sat morning zigged and zagged from 15 ft to 40 ft from the Little Salmon to the south dunes. Very muddy water by the Salmon river. High 50 degree water. Tried everything. Trolled back 60 to 80 ft. Total catch 1 perch on a J9 Rapala. Never caught a perch trolling before. Going deep this weekend for sure.

there is no public launch on Sandy Pond. You will need to launch at North Sandy Pond marina or Reiters (Route 3) or Goodnoughs(route 3). If you will be going out onto the lake and are not familiar, the channel is low and hazardous. I would recommend launching at the State Launch at Mexico.

Coastal storm?
lrg355 replied to Sharky's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I was coming home from a business trip in Cleveland, Ohio on 80 east. I must have passed 1000 Power Company Line trucks coming east from as far west as Missouri. I guess they feel this is "The Big One"
