  1. Can't tell from the pic, but read this. http://www.batteries-faq.com/activekb/q ... estionid=6 Also, how old is the battery? Should be a date marked on it, usually punched out of the sticker on top...if its more than a few years old, and particularly if it wasn't maintained properly by charging it religously EACH TIME shortly after using it, then they will progressively loose their ability to take a charge and you will have a battery that will not last as long. BUT...Keep in mind that your 12v TM is not likely to last too much more than an hour or two on full blast, so dont expect miracles from a new battery either. The terrova with the digital maximizer will however do nicely if running less than full bore. For instance, at half power it will last 2x as long (5 speeds that use a resistor burn about the same juice no matter what power setting you use) so you do have that in your favor...but maybe you knew that already Good luck! 2. I'm not in the market myself, but just to help a brotha out...that unit has a universal sonar (US1) transducer built in, right? [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  3. I'm going to assume you mean tiger muskie. Nearest waters stocked with pures is 90 minutes from Rochester. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  4. Trailer tires (STs) should be run at max pressure listed on the sidewall, usually that's 50. 42 is too low. I know there are guys that go as high as 60 and swear by it with no problems, but that's outta my comfort zone. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  5. Nice day out there weather-wise. Went from 1 footers to almost nothing as the morning wore on. Fishing a little less so for us though. Lost one near the boat and another deep. Both on the chatterstix. Only a lousy silver made it to the boat. Marked em pretty thick in 68 ft off pt colburne on the CA side a mile off the line. not much deeper or shallower. 6. Mark, Blueeye was still working it up as of last wk when we spoke. Nymuskiesinc dot com I think, right Chad? [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  7. Actually, coming over to canada BY LAND you go in and get the boat 'documented' at customs, meaning you have the boat registered with customs and get a slip of paper to show to authorities on the water if stopped. No need do anything when heading out, as long as you stay in CA waters. No idea what you do if you plan to cross over the line from CA to US while on the water. Doesn't matter...high wind warning from SW this AM. Gonna hit the river instead. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]

  9. Awesome Dan, we'd love to have a fellow aficianado aboard! dues for the local chapter are the same as others: 35/yr. You can go online to register and since we're still in process of getting the local added to the chapter list online, you can leave the chapter blank and make a note that you'd like to be part of chapter 69: NY Looking forward to having you aboard on the ground floor of the effort! 14. Next meeting is wednesday the 29th of Aug. Please try to attend if you're at all able. Same time (7pm) and place (nashvilles in henrietta). If you didn't get my email or aren't on the email list yet, PM me here so I can add you. Also mark your calendars for next month's meeting: last Wednesday Sept 26th. In anticipation of receipt of charter, it will be less meeting and more celebration of us making it official!!! Details to come...stay tuned. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  15. Thanks Larry. I'm going to miss the meeting myself but will be headed that way sunday (a week on erie, north shore -pt abino) so we'll get em your way via someone at the mtg like ronix if he's still working the river, or I can myself, worst case. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  16. Yeah he did me a solid last week. Called him at 8, dropped off at 8:05, and by 11 he said come n get it! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  17. Just confirming, the next meeting will be tomorrow, Wednesday Aug 29, again at Nashvilles in Henrietta. 7 pm start. New members welcome! Ronix, might be best to just bring anything for Bob's auction with you, if you're going. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  18. Authorized repair ctr around buffalo, near Grand Isle I think. I don't know the name but have good things from those that have used him. I will be taking mine there to get the shaft shortened once it arrives. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  19. We are going to give Nashvilles another try...in speaking with them after the mtg, they said they will set us up away from the partition and lower the music, so we will see how that works. The cover letters we thought existed apparently do not, so we have to draft. We are still not there with the website and need to get signatures from the board so that we can get the charter (the probationary charter has been approved, we now just have to return the paperwork). Once that happens we will be added to the chapter list on the membership list on the MI signup page on the website. These things need to be in place when the communications go out. I will put a draft together this week for folks to react to. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]

  22. Moreso than marking fish, see if you're generating ANY returns. The 50khz will provide a wider cone but at the price of relative sensitivity vs the 200, however it should still at least return bottom etc. At least then you will know if its total failure of some sort or adjustment related [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  23. Good, check that off the list... I'm not a lowrance guy so all I can offer is general thoughts... is there a selection option in the setup for type of ducer you're using that needs to be changed? Is there a view like on HB where you can see the two beam's returns side by side, rather than composite? If so, using that view would help you narrow it down by checking to see if its indeed working- i.e. just a weak return vs no returns etc. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
